Ah so you arrived at this part as well. Im sitting here with my head in my hands. Even after he picks up the quad damage he is not able to finish them. ^_^

And no I am not worried about the "haters". And neither should you. Stop with this us/them bullshit. Some people like what they see and some won't like what they see. So what. Stop acting like everything is black and white and people must be lumped into sides and ridiculed if they are not on your side. Seriously. This forum needs to let that shit go.

I still have not seen homing missiles from revenants... Is your fantasy taking you for a ride or do you have a timestamp? ;) (wink wink nudge nudge)

Oh, btw: Revenant jetpack malfunction animation confirmed in final game. As long as with homing missiles. So at least 9/10 to those in doubt?

Well if the dude in the vids just sort of stood around when facing cacodemons like in the portion that I decided to actually try to watch through, then that sort of gives a reason why he likely died to them alot.

I don't really think anything will happen in this forum, the worst I can see is maybe some doomsaying about the game.But seeing as how the person playing was doing worse than the people playing during the SP stream, I sort of doubt it.

We can "let that shit go" once a substantial part of the "fanbase" stops making up imaginary reasons to hate this game and stops trolling the internet with their incessant nitpicking.

You don't get to decide what incessant nitpicking is. :) What is nitpicking for one person is very important to another person. It has to do with the fact that everyone is different. You can disagree with the points that are brought up but that is another story altogether. Disagreeing with someone does not turn the other party into trolls or a lesser being. When someone has an opposing view to yours its not, by default, invalid.

And this is what has been happening here on Doomworld. Its one big giant circle jerk where people even regurgitate what they call bad reviews weeks after the beta has closed. Its no longer relevant but its so great to revel in this feeling of false camaraderie that people just keep bringing it up. In fact, people are actively perpetuating it.

Worrying about the opinions of "haters". Polarizing the community even before something has been said to make certain the sides are set and any form of normal discussion/exchanging of opinions has been ruled out. The world is black and white after all. Right? Come on... :)

I look forward to this game. Yet I still see Cacodemons getting stuck on trees. I see the Baron corpse repeatedly Ragdoll in a really poor manner. I see the player cam clip the world in a really ugly manner on death about 50% of the time. The game is arena after arena after arena. I see really poor glitches with the glory kills where you can perform a death from above just by running into a staggered monster with your viewpoint turned to the ground. I could go on.

Now, I see more good, enjoyable aspects to Doom4 then I see bad aspects. And I enjoy discussing these with people who share my interest in the new incarnation of Doom. But this does not mean I think everything is perfect. And it certainly does not mean that every person that has a worry or "complaint" (including myself) about Doom4 is wrong by default, a troll or whatever other derogatory term you can come up with.

See how that works? You can be a "fan" and still disagree with some aspects about the game. Or have some worries. So stop the polarizing bullshit. Whats the worst that can happen? Threads no longer blow up? We may get some actual discussion? If you find stuff particularly stupid you could also choose to just not respond to it. Hell I don't respond to 80% of the threads and comments here on Doomworld for exactly that reason.

Can confirm. Nightmare looked/is really, really hard. Looking forward to trying it. Doubt i'll make it my first play-trough though. :)

Can't they sue the hell out of him for playing this? As well as the people who sold the game to him almost a week before it's official release date?

They just give him a copy right strike on youtube and force youtube to take down the stream and video footage. Also countries like Brazil and the UAE break street dates all the time and nothing ever happens to them.

Ditto on the first playthrough part. I think that playing the game through once first would probably help some.

someone was complaing that the game is too short, there's soulution - try to finish it on nightmare and you'll palying it FOREVER.

I'm not afraid, though annoyed. The re alot of haters and nitpickers here in this very forum. Most of them hate it for being new and not like the classic doom (which btw is not true) nd others complain about snapmap and how its not modable. Id.dav's the most vocal at this point.

Well that is one question answered then. Sadly I didn't get to see that part.

I have to wonder though, if it is as bad texturing wise as you say, then who did they actually get to remake them in Doom 4?

Eh, its not so bad. From watching the guy run through the level, I didn't notice anything off, then again my memory of the old textures are somewhat hazy. I'm more interested in the monster layout they decide to go with.

Lots of action and explosions

Level design is pretty good

Lore is substantial but out of the way

Nightmare is hard as balls

SnapMap lets you create and save maps offline even without servers.

Multiplayer doesn't seem to work without servers, though, so it seems like bot support is unofficial at best.

Classic levels are there but people say it looks bad. Looked fine to me but whatever.
