I see too much "Why doesn't it look like the original game" as if that's the objective way a new Doom game should look. tuo Posted May 11, 2016 After all the streams of people playing Doom early, I have to say, that I also formed an opinion I didn't have before. And yes, I hate Doom now. I hate that it is neither unlocked on my PC nor as physical disc in my PS4 at this very moment. I hate it. Doom, I hate you! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I can't speak for others but the only thing I complained about for not being exactly like the original is the Classic level bonus. You know, that thing that's meant to be literally an import of the original game's levels. I actually think the additions I've seen are pretty awesome and only add to the experience. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

impcruncher Posted May 12, 2016 I hate D44M so much. The beta multiplayer was absolutely horrible. Before I tried the beta, I was a bit nervous about the stuff I heard about how there were only 2 weapons. Whelp, I heard wrong, and we got COD load-outs. From what I experienced in the multi-player beta, the game-play felt like Halo was given a near lethal dose of opiates and sedatives. The single-player looks to be just as mushy. Also: >1 click/button chainsaw kills with forced animation >glory-kills for health I hate the direction Bethesda and id-in-name-only have gone with the plot and the artwork. The cyber-demon looks like rejected art from Wizards of the Coast and Blizzard was combined into a moose Minotaur Hybrid. It also looks like it has a glowing blue weak spot. The D44M armor looks exactly like a ripoff of Halo. And then, you've got the robot Jedi-cyborg laser-sword wielding, Samuel Hayden, who basically says, "Master Chief, the Sith are spreading across the galaxy--use argent energy and your midichlorians to stop this Hot Topic evil." Scrapping all mod support for SnapMapâ„¢ is horrible. There are literally levels from DOOM 1 and 2 that can't be made with SnapMapâ„¢. If there were modding tools, then maybe the community could fix the game a bit. It's also laughable that they're pushing DLC and a season pass already. I'm surprised that the approval rating on Steam was so high. >INB4 I'm living in the past. >INB4: "It's Game X+3, you can't expect it to be anything like Game X, Game X+1, or Game X+2!" >INB4 the Baghdad Bobs on here say, "It's not bad; it will be the greatest game ever!" >INB4 I should wait another 9 years before posting again I would probably feel ripped off, if I got the game for free. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

You don't even say anything worthwhile or new, just regurging the same old shitty outdated complaints from four months ago. take your cheap parroting back to your shithole and fucking stay there, Jesus. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

MajorRawne Posted May 12, 2016 My friend, a hard-core gamer (but no Doom expert) just told me he cancelled his pre-order after the multiplayer beta. He "hated everything about it" and thought it looked like Halo or like some generic, characterless FPS. I've been calling it Halomatch ever since the first screenies showing those Master Chiefs pogoing around with generic, non-Doom weapons. Please, please let SP and Snapmap be good... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
BilboHicks Posted May 12, 2016 DOOMGUY_GODMODE said:DOOM is a great game i don't know what all the fuss is about. No game ever made is perfect. I played the alpha, close beta and open beta there were no problems with the game it played just like doom. And i'm sure the campaign is going to be amazing especially snapmap multiplayer is great too. Hmmn, perhaps many people in the Doom community, like me, possibly due to playing many video games over the years, and seeing how the industry has gone, may be a little jaded. Admittedly I dont really play games anymore that much, besides a dayz mod Im working on, but there are some aspects of this doom 4 release that, when compared to its heritage, seem to fall short. For me, its lack of co-op support for campaign. If it is true that there will be no mod support for the game, that means no cool mods like LMS for Doom3 that actually did add co-op support. The Halo-esque look and feel & snapmap is obviously be due to the 'consolization' of the game in order to sell more units to console crowd. This happened to the Crysis series. This may be due to my jadedness, but nothing about the preview videos looks very exciting to me, sort of generic. If the gameplay truly is like original doom, which seems to be the designers goal, that is cool. If it gets good reviews, including from people on this forum, I may consider checking it out in the future once the price drops. I suppose any game taking the Doom name, which was such an iconic game that definied a genre, that will no doubt create VERY HIGH expectations. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ToxicSludge Posted May 12, 2016 the biggest problem i have with loadouts is that each weapon now has to be balanced. if you put the rocket launcher and the machine gun as starter weapons then there has to be some sort of parity so people dont flock to the rocket launcher over the machine gun. this in effect makes the rocket launcher weaker (in MP)compared to older doom games when it should be a power weapon. i also think the double barrel should be a power weapon, and the shotgun should be a starter weapon. can snapmap remedy these problems? from what they've shown it doesnt look like it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Graf Zahl Posted May 12, 2016 I don't hate the game - I only hate the hardware requirements. I'm simply not willing to upgrade my graphics card just to play it - especially since I couldn't warm up to anything I've been checking out over the last 10 years. Oh - I also hate DRM on computer games. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

People are already stripping textures and making mods for the game. 2. I don't care about playing what's supposed to be a Single Player experience with someone else. Screw a co-op campaign. That's what Multiplayer is for. 3. The reason it looks Halo-esuqe and polished is because it's 2016, not 1993. Hardware changes. 4. What's generic about it? Every weapon from the old DOOM is included, there is fast paced movement, hordes of enemies coming at you, etc. 5. Glory kills are optional. I think the new game EXCEEDS it's heritage. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
