Graphic_Delusions Posted May 13, 2016 Just fired up DOOM on my PS4 and right from the very beginning of the campaign I get split jerky frame rate every 5-10 seconds. Very distracting. Does this happen to you or is this a fault with my copy or PS4? I have downloaded the day one patch and my PS4 is running fine with all other games. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Graphic_Delusions Posted May 15, 2016 With no responses on here, it would suggest that this is an isolated issue. With that said, I'm desperate for advice to come up with a fix. Since my initial opening post, I took the game back to GAME and got the disc swapped for another brand new copy. The guy who served me was puzzled why such an issue would arise. I got home, reinstalled the game and the same issue was happening.. I rebooted the internet router and that didn't fix it. I decided to switch off the internet and long behold I was not getting the the split second stuttering every 5-10 seconds. So for the past couple days I've been enjoying the campaign with no issues, but with the internet switched off. My problem is that I cannot experience multiplayer and Snapmap without the split second stuttering. I have checked my PS4 and all other games run fine. PSN mostly runs fine, however, the 'What's New' feature and recent activity posts that appear below the game icons don't load (just a rotating 'loading' symbol). I doubt that would be related, but I did boot the PS4 in safe mode and completed the data rebuild - but the issue wasn't fixed still. Can somebody please please help me? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Johnatone Posted May 15, 2016 Sorry to hear you're having issues. So far I haven't had any problems with stuttering or frame rate drops, though it has crashed twice (once loading a SnapMap tutorial and once right as I was about to get the winning frag in TDM - I'm still salty as a mafc about that.) Does it affect multiplayer too? If not then just leave your internet off and enjoy (remember to connect and sync your trophies; my wife is missing some Fallout trophies because she didn't do that.) Otherwise I'm not sure; there's only so much trouble shooting you can do for consoles. 90% of my problems anymore come from Comcast being such a shitty ISP. The PS4 has gotten better since release; I used to have that infinite load occur in the party chat menu constantly in addition to NAT type errors and random disconnects from parties. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Thanks for replying. This happens in the entire game (campaign, Multiplayer, Snapmap), even on the main title screen you can notice a split second stutter in the background animation. To me, it is felt there is something running in the background connecting to the game's servers that disrupts the fluidity of the frame rate. Once I disconnect the internet, the problem goes away. I've now emailed Bethesda support and they said the "connectivity of your Playstation 4 with our server is the most likely reason for the problem". They have given me some network router advice, but I have already tried that. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
