I don't believe the word "Doom" ever appeared in Doom 1, 2, or 3, in that nothing in the text, from in-game story, logs, names, etc., was "Doom" ever used. "Doom" has been ostensibly just a brand name for the franchise. Here, we actually have something officially called "Doom Marine" in the game. Interesting.
