I checked the thread and it looks like I've been keeping score correctly throughout the month, but the total number of runs beaten was one less than the actual number. :) Congrats, Ancalagon. Guess I won't do the next event next month since I've gotten a few requests for it being postponed. Dunno what people would prefer, perhaps August? So far these have occurred pretty much just once a year, but the main reason I postponed this one was to wait for the Perdition's Gate demo pack (which of course wasn't targeted by anyone ;), so the next one could happen much sooner than next year if there's interest.

I discovered something that may kill these "beat xxx" threads.

I'm anticipating "Beat Memfis (kuchitsu) demos month" sooner or later... so I will concentrate myself to record demos faster than his, not show them to anybody and when the month comes, spam them all at the very end. Possibly changing the dates of the .lmps so you will not be able to tell :-P

It's true that people might be able to do this, but they'd also have to live with themselves, knowing that they are the type of scum who would cheat in a contest that's 100% for fun.

Even in this contest, I realized I could stockpile demos and put a lot more effort into beating others' for a two-point swing where I thought it'd be time-efficient, and then post all of them on the 30th thus not waking the Ancalabeast until it was too late -- but that all seemed way too gamey for something that ultimately doesn't matter a great deal.

hah, make it a beat Azurish demos month
(editing his demos so they end up 1-2 secs faster overall would also count and you can claim the demo as your own!)
