Making Single Player Survival Maps

How many people just make maps like Classic Doom where it's just you playing, finding secrets, killing things, and then reaching the end?

I'm aware you can make MP maps that you can play with a friend but I don't really like those.

My plan with Snapmap once it gets better is make more and more wave maps, each with varying themes and enemy placements. Singleplayer maps can be done, but the 2 weapon limit really makes it tough (for me) to have a true SP experience. Also the universal ammo packs doesn't help.
