lost version?

well I am back from my trip to washington DC. While i was there i thought about something, what about the military doom versions. It would be cool if these doom mods were public. I have seen screen shots of these versions but i ahve never found one online. I think these should be released, if ID has any control on them, or if someone has it use it to make into a freeware IWAD or a MOD/TC for doom. by the way is there any progress in the free IWAD movement, when i was last here it looked like some of u were planning the IWAD project
