This map wasn't too hard when taken slowly. I forgot about enemies a few times and nearly died, but it only took me 3 tries for an exit :D

As a result of another cannabis induced comatose state, I have come with another AA -fast run, this map was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but once I figured out some safety strats that aren't too slow, it was pretty easy. Just need to be steady and aim correctly, and strafe correct, which is quite hard to do when incapacitated, but not all around. The ending is the scariest part.

Nono, not a speedrun, but a "proof" that the cyberdemon shot four rockets in one volley. I only want to show this so some friendly human could shed light on how's that even possible. I've watched that part on repeat multiple times to be sure it was not a weird consequence of pain chance or infight. Happens at the pinky rush at 0:18 onwards.

If you mean just the bit at 0:18, looks like two 3-rocket volleys in short succession.

Entering camera mode while playing back a demo in PrBoom+ allows the player to go third-person and explore throughout the level during the run.

Through this, I am able to confirm what 4shockblast already said. At 0:18, the cyber shoots a 3-rocket volley, takes a step, and then immediately shoots another 3-rocket volley.

Oh, I forgot that existed. Yeah, in the video the third rocket of the first volley is near invisible on the cyb's leg, that's why it totally seemed like... anyways, sorry 4shockblast, and thanks to both.

I need more practice in episode 3 during proper attempts. I'm letting anxiety/nerves get to me and kill my confidence and end up playing poorly as a result ;_;.

long demos are hard, and 28 and 29 are why i never tried a d2all back in the day because of exactly what happened there 😂

29 doesn't seem that bad from practice. The first encounter can be trivialized with bfg spam, and you can sit outside the archvile's range in the second encounter. Some rng in the third but it's mostly manageable with just circling out the outer ring and spamming bfg.

 

I feel like I have a solid plan for the cyberdemons at the start in 28, getting the first one out onto the walkway and killing it with the bfg opens up the rest of the map, and there shouldn't really be any difficulty from there.

 

Neither map seems too awful on the rng, and they're definitely not as bad as Popes of Roam when I was grinding Valiant D2All.

Wow, you almost had it... I would agree that Map28 is probably the most problematic one here since it's late and hard. Wish you luck for future tries.
