Oh, that was my fault. I mirrored stuff and then made sure to fix the diagonal beams but forgot the horizontal one.

That would be interesting. haha. I have too much on my project plate so I'm sticking to making textures. :)

Care to share tutorial of how you made those? I somewhat know how to do it, but it's possibly longer and harder way. :P

I think the way to do this kind of stuff quickly is you flatten the colors to keep only light level changes (for the 3D-ness of the texture), reduce it to translucent grayscale, and use it as a mask on other textures.

Please... I can only handle so many door1 remxies at once. @w@

 

Also guys, keep an eye open in the "Wads and mods" section, I'm working on a map that utilises with these door textures. XD

I don't have my own DOOR1 remix, but while we're on topic I just want to give a shout out to this one by @Jaxxoon R:

I played with a bunch of programs for making animated water (though not recently) with varying degrees of success; but for actually animating a single existing texture this is one of the better results I've seen.

 

Like @SilverMiner said this is something that could be automated with a script, which I might try. Just recolouring them is pretty easy though.

I would gladly post a tutorial for my work process though I have no idea when I will get around to it. TLDR version for the time being is although I have 7 programs total, GraphicsGale is my go to, which I abuse the hell out of the brightness and contrast settings in it(Image<Adjust Colors).

Here is some teleports with the door1 metal framing the outside parts.

Another tall variation, based on Jimmy's variant:

And now, for something completely different:

A version of W13_1 stretched to 96 pixels in height. Why? Well, because BIGDOOR1 is 96 pixels tall. So using a stretched version of W13_1 allows to fix something that has been bugging me since 1994:
