I have too much on my project plate so I'm sticking to making textures. :) 2 hours ago, plums said: Yeah, from this guide: I though there was also a program just for making animated water and caustics. Ahh yes, that happens sometimes. :p @ItsNatureToDie Like the metal border door with the skin and the wood and the green encrusted vine door. Nice. Gez Posted June 8, 2020 I think the way to do this kind of stuff quickly is you flatten the colors to keep only light level changes (for the 3D-ness of the texture), reduce it to translucent grayscale, and use it as a mask on other textures. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

DynamiteKaitorn Posted June 8, 2020 (edited) Please... I can only handle so many door1 remxies at once. @w@ Also guys, keep an eye open in the "Wads and mods" section, I'm working on a map that utilises with these door textures. XD EDIT: Done with the map! Edited June 8, 2020 by DynamiteKaitorn Finished map I promised I would make. <3 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

Scypek2 Posted June 8, 2020 I don't have my own DOOR1 remix, but while we're on topic I just want to give a shout out to this one by @Jaxxoon R: I never got to use it anywhere yet, but I'm hoping to. It's awesome. 11 Quote Share this post Link to post

Doom_Dude Posted June 8, 2020 Made a brick wall out of the brown stuff from door1, then some pillars using the silvery metal bottom part. 9 Quote Share this post Link to post

I never did get to try it out and I forget what it's called. I played with a bunch of programs for making animated water (though not recently) with varying degrees of success; but for actually animating a single existing texture this is one of the better results I've seen. Like @SilverMiner said this is something that could be automated with a script, which I might try. Just recolouring them is pretty easy though. edit: Nukage and lava available in https://www.mediafire.com/file/byk6ssedpvqv42p/D1DOOT.wad/file, see @DynamiteKaitorn's topic Edited June 8, 2020 by plums 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

TLDR version for the time being is although I have 7 programs total, GraphicsGale is my go to, which I abuse the hell out of the brightness and contrast settings in it(Image<Adjust Colors). Doom_Dude Posted June 9, 2020 (edited) Here is some teleports with the door1 metal framing the outside parts. And a strip for the teleport fronts.. could be used as a step also I guess. Gez Posted June 9, 2020 (edited) Another tall variation, based on Jimmy's variant: And now, for something completely different: A version of W13_1 stretched to 96 pixels in height. Why? Well, because BIGDOOR1 is 96 pixels tall. So using a stretched version of W13_1 allows to fix something that has been bugging me since 1994: (I'm pretty sure other people have made that fix before, but this one is mine.) And now that this is done and out of the way: Newfangled corporate logos! Doom 3 and NuDoom. Edit: newfangled logo variants with just the inner triangle part: Edited June 9, 2020 by Gez 12 Quote Share this post Link to post
