XLightningStormL Posted October 3, 2020 The raw, referential posters I've made for a top secret project. But if you wanna use them as a reference to this project, or just for some silly references, you could use the ones below for non-Zderivative ports. 11 Quote Share this post Link to post

Smouths Posted October 3, 2020 (edited) Made this sort of w/e industrial wall while working on those doors Then figured it would probably work better as a large lift texture Here's some door lights Edited October 3, 2020 by Smouths 31 Quote Share this post Link to post
EffinghamHuffnagel Posted October 3, 2020 Man, you've got that Industrial Style down cold. It's like a 'slightly cleaner' Quake. If there's ever another Bloody Rust project, your textures are perfect for it. Great work. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
elend Posted October 4, 2020 Yes, you better get workin on that texture pack. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
XLightningStormL Posted October 8, 2020 More Tech textures, this time a template based off of Vostyok's Arcade cabinets from Ashes Afterglow but in Doom art style Raw version/original size here: https://imgur.com/WFDdTFg Proof of concept of what you can do with them too: Credits to Vostyok, which permission was granted to do this. Many Thanks to him. 18 Quote Share this post Link to post
HQDefault Posted October 8, 2020 Handy little version of COMPTALL cut in half because I can't tell you how many times I felt like I needed one 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted October 8, 2020 How about making it easier to cut in two? 18 Quote Share this post Link to post
HQDefault Posted October 9, 2020 Some LITE textures based on FLAT4 7 Quote Share this post Link to post
Smouths Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) Been needing a bit of a change of pace, so I thought I'd try to make some sky textures (resized for visibility) Kinda funny, the clouds are from a picture of granite, and the mountains are from some dead sunflower stalk leaves (edit- some doublewides and other) Edited October 11, 2020 by Smouths 20 Quote Share this post Link to post
elend Posted October 10, 2020 Creative! And good looking. Very cool. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
elend Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) I found this quite neat sky and made it tile horizontally and vertically (!), as well as dithered the shit out of it. Only when I was 80 % done did I remember, that most doomers don't like dithering in their textures / skies. Now I am sad but post it here anyway. Also I am not even sure the size of 1024 x 256 is actually feasible for Boom (?), please tell me. Once I buy the "PixaTool" by Kronbits, I will revisit this sky (and another one I found) and make some quick and dirty (yet hopefully good looking) and especially different colored versions. Stay tuned. Edited October 13, 2020 by elend 28 Quote Share this post Link to post

HQDefault Posted October 16, 2020 (edited) Some variants of the Episode 1 sky. Stormy, cloudy, and bright & "sunny" EDIT: Also, experimental version with an actual blue sky Edited October 16, 2020 by HQDefault 29 Quote Share this post Link to post
elend Posted October 16, 2020 (edited) Very nice, love these versions. They could gradually change throughout an episode. Very nice. Edited October 16, 2020 by elend 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

What about gradually change during one map... like weather changing in other games. It would be nice to combine the stormy version with the rain effect. ;) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted October 17, 2020 On 10/15/2020 at 11:27 PM, HQDefault said: Some variants of the Episode 1 sky. Those are beautiful skies. The Phobos Directive used variants of the E1 sky in a manner similar to the way you describe. The maps were in a hub, with the player returning to the "central" map, and the sky in this map was changed periodically to signal progression. The game had a night sky, a foggy sky, and a bright blue sky. In addition, the patches for sky textures were increased in height from 128 pixels to 240 pixels because ZDooM accommodated "tall" skies. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Koko Ricky Posted October 17, 2020 (edited) I'm working on a map right now and made myself a couple of transparent pipe textures from some modified online images. They look really good when hanging below a ceiling but above the player. Edited October 17, 2020 by GoatLord 15 Quote Share this post Link to post
DooMAD Posted October 18, 2020 Found https://i.pinimg.com/originals/5c/e0/7c/5ce07cf4a20cad91cc85d47577c102c6.jpg while searching for textures and thought the concentric overlapping circles one looked kinda cool. Made a few versions with and without the rivets: 16 Quote Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted October 18, 2020 @GoatLord: Those overhead pipe textures look fantastic! Another way to use such textures is as a ceiling flat (i.e., the pipes are running horizontally overhead). They can be put into a recessed section of the ceiling. For example, take a look at the upper edge of this picture or the upper right of this one. You can also use pipes quite effectively as floor textures, as seen on the left side of this one. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted October 18, 2020 So on imgur's frontpage, some random person boasting about their pastry-making skills. The road ahead was clear, there was only one possible recourse of action: make a Doom texture out of it. I mean, obviously. So enjoy the BREADTEX collection. Now I can hear you saying, "this looks more like some flat", some have no fear, it comes in 64x64 size too! Upper-left corner is the "original" of the resized, desaturated seamless edit. Next to it is with inverted color. And then a bunch of recolors of each pair made with SLADE in the Doom color palette. If anyone's curious, the non-desaturated, non-paletted "original": It was bread, but who knows what material it can become in a map? 21 Quote Share this post Link to post

I can actually imagine this being useful for like a cobblestone road or something. Can you confirm that it lööp? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

NaturalTvventy Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) ZZZTECH. It would be nice to edit for vertical scroll. Work for another night. Edit: Updated with vertical wrapping a few posts down. Edited October 22, 2020 by NaturalTvventy 14 Quote Share this post Link to post

elend Posted October 21, 2020 Please keep us posted, if you are successful, otherweise I will try it. I want this texture, too. :D 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
plums Posted October 21, 2020 Some progress, but I need to stop for now. Someone else can take it from here if they want. Still some loose wires and I wasn't sure what to do with the piping 1/3 of the way in. 8 Quote Share this post Link to post
