EffinghamHuffnagel Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) Finally feeling a bit better about life. Noticed TNT2 had some UAC doors. Made TNT versions. Used cc4-tex comp texturing for the base. Also made 128x64 versions. Doom-paletted. Hope they're useful. Edit: grabbed my v4 instead of v5 of the big TNT door. Here's the correct version that lines up with the blank one. EffinghamHuffnagel Posted September 16, 2022 Thank you. I really appreciate that right now. I've had a couple of recent deaths close to me. My mom passed after a long illness and a friend committed suicide a couple of weeks after I saw him last. Like most people, it's made me question. What's important to me, what I like, what I'm doing, what's next. I find that playing with textures for an hour lets me focus and take my mind off of things. It's a process. Baby steps. SO. I was playing a wad which used cc4-tex and found a room full of COMPTALL. I noticed a couple of panels didn't match. I found there are no cc4-tex versions of COMP04_1 and COMP04_2, so I made them. I also made cc4-tex versions of COMP04_3 and COMP04_4 from lost-res, just to be complete. And COMP04_9, a slightly different version of COMP04_8. The room had one panel hiding a secret. Just one. I like visual hints to secrets. And speaking of visual hints to secrets, here's a few more alternates. And some hidden hidden computer switches. The hint here is that the electrical symbol is reversed and a bit brighter. I tend to make cc4 comp-textured versions of computer textures I run across. Lately, it's been TNT2. ChopBlock223 Posted September 19, 2022 I've always been REALLY bothered by how FLAT23 has that stupid outline on it as if it'd have that circle on it, which prevents smooth metal floors from actually looking smooth proper. I just recreated it proper from SHAWN, and while I was at it, I redid the elevator STEP flats as well, as it never sat right with me that one half seemed to be like, concrete or something. In the process I also made a number of offset versions, all which should tile with FLAT23 (barring the brown pads themselves). I went ahead and redid the SHAWNing on the console flats too, making them the complete 8 in the process. The green circle pad is because the blue one is sometimes used as a teleport destination, and I feel green would better fit with the teleport flash. I've gotten a lot of really good and useful textures from this thread for my community project, so I figure I'll add some back, even if these ones in question are pretty simple. 35 Quote Share this post Link to post

ChopBlock223 Posted September 20, 2022 Here's one more, a large 128x128 smooth marble wall which tiles, along with a smooth marble flat of the same color which tiles, the flat in particular I think works very well with that one unused marble step texture from the beta, not restricting yourself to the marble tile flat, or the smooth (but darker shade) marble flat, you can make some snazzy looking stair steps and other little details. ChopBlock223 Posted September 20, 2022 The beta also has a larger and more detailed version of the SNAKE texture, but which isn't a Power Of Two width, thus it won't render normally in Vanilla/Boom. Putting two in a 512 pixel wide space and then squeezing a third between them fixes that. They're more detailed and visually varied than the 64 wide retail ones.
