Something to make them less obviously bigdoor edits. That is in my mind too. I have noticed that the bigger the door, the more "monotonous" it becomes. The reason of that is that the original BIGDOOR was never designed to be in such sizes. So many details repeat. The smaller BIGDOORs i made have not this problem. Meerschweinmann Posted November 30, 2023 (edited) The biggest doors are named for example BD2561ZL. Explained BD means BIGDOOR, 256 is the height, 1 means brown (2 Gray, 3 Green), Z are the 512/768 wide Doors and L stands for left tile (C is Center, R is right). To be honest, the reason why i inserted the DOOM2 texture names is simply said, i did not know it better :) Normaly all textures should be after the ZZZ textures from DOOM2. All 512/768 wide BIGDOORS were updated and errors were fixed here and there. The 256, 320 and 384 pixel wide BIGDOORS were updated too and the lightning especially from the green doors is back. Cammy Posted December 2, 2023 If such a tileable texture pack was to be made, it'd be wise to merge it with that set of fixed Doom 2 textures that's been in circulation for a while. I believe it's included in CC4tex, maybe also 32in24-15 tex? After I made mine I learned that Espi also made one in 2007 for Back to Basics and I wouldn't be surprised if there were others. I've considered doing an iwad texture fixing project at one time but it's not something I wanted to commit to organizing. Also has a fixed SUPPORT2 lmao I am nobody in this place, and as such I don't have all the knowledge that others do, but perhaps someone should curate a new "one size fits all" pack like CC4 is. From what I gather it's one of the most widely used asset packs around here. Seeing as this thread has garnered many texturers, wouldn't it be cool to have some of these widely available in a convenient pack too? I don't know if another Community Chest has a chance of happening, but it would be nice to have a big pack of goodies. I think all people here like to see their textures used by mappers.
