What's the definition of a gigawad, and how many are there?

I'm guessing it means 64+ levels or something? Do any other wads refer to themselves with a particular name when they're over 32 levels?

There's no official definition, no. Though apparently these Russian guys consider that a gigawad has 41+ levels: http://iddqd.ru/levels?type=giga&file=

The thread you link to suggests that it's a joke-ish term that shouldn't be taken serious.
