I was reading a little story about doom 3 over at gamespy

And this little snippet really caught my attention:

"Next, Tim showed off something new: the Revenant, an enemy returning from DOOM 2, complete with twin shoulder-mounted rockets."

I am so gottamm happy :) I love revenants, even when they're over used and abused, I still love them. I'm glad to see ID bringing back these little fellows, hell would have seemed so empty without them.

This is the part I liked. It takes an idea from ROTT and greatly improves it:

After switching to an assault rifle, Willits spent some time moving to a new area
and talking more about the lighting. "Every light is dynamic and can be turned on
and turned off," he explained. After shooting out a few of the lights, noticeably
darkening the area, Willits explained one way the new tech will influence
gameplay. "The player could blast out too many lights and will have a hard time
seeing that monster that's coming sneaking up behind them."

Then there's this:

To finish the demo, Tim spent a little time showing off how the physics and
lighting systems would interact. First, Tim showed the physics system by
shooting some boxes off a shelf -- the boxes would react differently depending
on where they were shot. Next, Tim shot the side of a lighting fixture, causing it
to swing back and forth, and subsequently cast moving shadows on the zombie
below.

I'm glad we'll be blowing up more than exploding barrels. By the way, will they be in Doom 3?

Doom III is a first-person shooter, so by definition is has crates, barrels (possibly explosive) and man-sized air ducts.

So does anybody know if the revenant is a skeleton with tin-mounted rocket launchers or...?

I would hope that it's a little more than just a skeleton.
