Well, if by "format" you mean maps that target Eternity or Risen for example, then no, but if you mean the three basic map formats (Doom, Hexen and UDMF) then yes. You can be confident people will make compatible maps. And yes we can mix and match different map formats into the same megawad, so it's not an issue if someone makes a UDMF map and the next person makes a vanilla map. Myself and @Dragonfly (thanks for the offer!) will help you get the community side of things all set up. Edit: Also you may want to edit the OP just to confirm the plan that there is a community spin-off project of this. Regarding the limit, if we limit to one map per person (which is pretty usual) it's unlikely we'll end up with gazillions anyway due to the time limit, so I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Plus, these maps likely won't take long to play, so we can have more than the usual 32 and it won't turn into a massive slog. At this point I wouldn't insist people choose a map slot though (although they can if they like), as we don't know how many maps we're ending up with. Also, I guess most maps will be built from a presumed pistol start so the order won't really be important (I'd imagine allowing carried-over weapons would unbalance these maps much more dramatically than usual, so we'd just enforce pistol starts on all of them). @Angry Saint I would personally suggest just IWAD. A: I think it'd aid geometric creativity if people don't need to worry about new textures, and B: it's much easier to combine wads when you don't have to worry about conflicting textures! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

And you can use this map if you want the player to lose all his weapons before going to the next map. Just like its author B-) Also, this map is a bit more congested. The area that the player can see is 272x272 or so. Tested in Choco Doom, has one Boom linedef which won't affect vanilla (ceiling light transfer). No guarantees that it will work in anything else. Music is D_AMPIE from rockit.wad (on /idgames), I think. Sector signature is present. (automatically a 10/10, I know) Monster count is 1, no Cyberdemons. Voodoo doll magic present. Death exit present, you can remove it if you want. The maps should be placed based on difficulty. And since this project is ZDoom we can use LOADACS to reset the player's health, ammo and weaponry to the defaults. I would personally disallow anyone from claiming any map-slot at this point, and would build a logical order only when we had all the submitted maps, but I didn't want to be too dictatorial with Xyzzy01's wad.
