CrimCuttle Posted May 25, 2017 Is it possible to convert a, even if very simple, doom map into a map that could be ran in CS:GO, Half-Life 2, etc? I'm not fond of Hammer too much. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted May 25, 2017 I apologize if this isn't much help, but you can export doom maps as .obj files in Doom Builder which I think can be used for a wide variety of games/engines. (don't quote me on this though) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Voros Posted May 25, 2017 I read something from somewhere about how after converting a Doom map into 2 different formats (and Blender is used for the second conversion) you could essentially have a Doom map run in Unreal, if that helps. I think it was from a forum thread about the Unreal Strife remake thing. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Guest Unregistered account Posted May 25, 2017 Doom maps have very simplistic geometry; it shouldn't be very hard to remake in Hammer as long as you know how to use it and how to import textures. I expect if the level was exported as a .obj the engine would run into problems with collision. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
