I'm glad that Edmund McMillen finally got some recognition in the Binding of Isaac, but it's sad that he's left his dead baby joke roots.

I'm replaying Blasphemous, because it's a really damn good game.

It's my favorite metroidvania besides SotN. The atmosphere and visual design is just awesome. I hope the sequel is at least as good, which it looks to be.

It's just absolutely amazing how good the game is. It oozes atmosphere from every pore, and the pixel art just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And the gameplay is so damn good; I was intimidated at first because I got my ass handed to me by the Warden of Silent Sorrow, and I put it aside for a few months. But once I got into it, and everything clicked, it felt great. It's hard, but it never seemed unfair, if I died, it's because I fucked something up.

I have my hopes up for Blasphemous 2, I haven't bought it yet, but I am a little concerned about it. From the comments I've read, it seems like they ended up ditching quite a bit of the narrative, and they give you a double jump and a mid-air dash. Which to me seems like it would destroy the gameplay. Blasphemous has always felt right because the Penitent One feels weighed down at all times, every movement seems slow and methodical, even the dashes are slow compared to someone like Alucard. I hope they didn't mess it up.

Well yeah, there's still the influence. But as far as I know, his original website, thisisacryforhelp is completely gone now. And yes, I visited that site well before he became somewhat famous. His dead baby dress up flash games were rather funny, in a two thousand and one kind of way: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/12725

Failing at beating Nuclear Throne + a lot of shmups, mainly

What ones? I'm aiming for 1ccs of Infinos Gaiden and Mushihimesama (novice) at the moment, between bouts of getting my teeth kicked in by Kyuukyoku Tiger.

I feel like I gotta go back to this one. I loved the world, but at the time I played it, I was so burned out on Metroidvanias.

Awh man, I'm not a fan of that either. I didn't know that. The weight of the original was a big deal to me too, and was part of what gave it a Souls game feeling. The plot in the first one felt pretty heavy and complimented the morbid and downbeat atmosphere. I think the setting and atmosphere can survive unscathed as long as the plot is decent, so I'm hoping they didn't do anything weird there. Have you ever played either of the Lords of Shadow Castlevania games? I really hated how they destroyed the atmosphere of the first one in the sequel by shitting on the plot - "yeah, let's make Dracula ride on a rocket through a window while fighting pharmaceutical company guys, that's what Castlevania fans want!". My favorite area in Blasphemous was the one where you could rip the enemies out from inside the book to execute them. What I love about the game is its dedication to a dark setting without any indie irony jokes (my least favorite thing about indie games that you see very often in at least half of them). It's just a legitimately dark game that has some very strong visuals and audio behind it with no bullshit.

It's not exactly what @wuunds is playing, but it does take place on a "Rubicon"! I've finished all the endings for Armored Core 6 and am messing around with the enemy settings to improve some of the PvE difficulty. It has otherwise been a wonderful time and some of my favorite combat in a FromSoft game since Bloodborne.

When I'm in the mood I have been taking my time playing through Lies of P lately - really, really good indie Souls-like game that doesn't just slap the label on it because "its hard lol".  Despite being a really dark take on Pinocchio, it really stands on its own and followed the formula in a way that worked while adding its own fresh twist.  Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new game that plays like a Souls game but also has its own identity and is well-executed.

What´s your PC build and on what settings did you play the game on? My PC is from 2015 but I did get some uprgrades mainly Nvidia GTX 1080, better RAM (16GB probably) and SSD, though I doubt that would be enough to start the game.

It's a Rubicon X kind of day.

As someone who played through this about only a couple months ago, I will say Good Luck. You're gonna need it.

On a serious note, it has great atmosphere and writing, but some of the levels (early ones in particular) are very tedious to navigate and then in later levels, there are some new enemy types that may be very imbalanced/broken on higher skills. Generally not recommended to play above Normal difficulty.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, I'm currently half-way through the game. The dialogue and tone of the game, especially Gray's one liners and the banter between Gray and his teammates tends to make me crack up a lot.

I got through HL1 on hard last year and didn't find it all that bad but I'm accustomed to the isms of these games and like the increased challenge.

@Alfiq Not really sure how to answer this, use the right weapons on the right enemies, don't rush into every fight, it's really just increased health pools for enemies and reduced health from wall units, it's not that bad. The HECU are kinda spongy with the MP5 but it insinuates their body armor is working.

I'm playing it through a GeForce 2070 and a decent chunk of ram, maxed most everything out. It still chunks out when a bunch of big dumb particle explosions go off all at once. For what it's worth, the performance is much more consistent than Elden Ring's was.

I'd like to hope you can get it going because it plays decently enough on the older generation consoles as well. Maybe it has weird performance issues for PC but I'd check the minimum specs on the Steam page, see how it compares to what you can manage?

The Last Exterminator demo. Apparently, it is not an actual Build game, even though it sure goes for that aesthetic.

Not great, but not bad either. The available arsenal is kind of bland, but the protagonist is already more relatable than Bombshell.

It was coincidentally that i was playing Tomb Raider 1 and 2 beforehead the Announcement of the Remaster.
I want to proceed with Baldur's Gate 3 and now Cyberpunk, but my Brain is too destroyed from Work to enjoy it properly.

So i went playing Tomb Raider, as it is as Doom and you can quickly jump in and out.

I also tested all the other Titles, 4-6,
and it really seems the least BS has the first Game.

You can play Tomb Raider 1 and figure out all the Stuff by yourself.

Tomb Raider 2 is giving me some hard Time in some Levels (Opera, especially the Opera, i spend at least 3 Hours there), and has some pretty annoying Parts, but it is overall more enjoyable than annoying.

I was also browsing some CDs with PCem on Win98, to just play around with Demos and found this one with "Laras Lost Adventures".
I seemingly never gave it much of an Look back then, but it is a Fan Campaign and has this Doom Beginners Map Vibe to it haha

But who of us was released in a official Magazine?

Researching a bit, the TR Mapping Scene seems to have as fun Maps as the Doom one.

I just finished Alan Wake Remastered. Great game, I just wish American Nightmare was remastered aswell. The concert fight was one of, if not, the most memorable moment in the game.
