Doom4 cool?

Well, yes and no.
The first part would take place on the star port which would be the typical, claustrophobic indoor areas, the next setting would be in the city - that's where the huge outdoor areas are needed, but a city is not a huge, wide open area - there are obstacles like something called "buildings". I'm sure that the Doom 3 engine can handle a larger version of something like the "Downtown" map in Doom 2. The last bit would be set in Hell (which is also in Doom 3).
