I stole my opponent's Ugin, the Spirit Dragon with a Dauthi Voidwalker, and then rode out the game with double Ghostfire activations from Ugin and Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God. It was quite the Magical Christmasland scenario for me.

As I mentioned in the "What are you Playing" thread, I'm finally getting around to completing Black Mesa. I really can't understand the people who don't like the new Xen, or feel it's too long. And I see why it took so long to actually get it completed. It's not just a bunch of flat rocks floating in space in anymore, it feels like it's its own living, breathing world, with it's own flora and fauna.

 

And it's gorgeous.

 

 

And now I really feel bad for killing the Houndeyes. They are literally just animals living in their home world, and they got sucked into ours; they're just protecting themselves. They're scared and their only defense against predators is their sonic shockwave. :'(

 

And they're so cute when they're sleeping too.

I was pleasantly surprised. The remake of the Black Mesa facility was impressive, they did quite a bit to rework it, and fix some issues with the original game. It was thoroughly enjoyable playing their vision of Half-Life.

 

But damn, I was not ready for Xen. I can't fathom why some people don't like it. It no longer feels like a tacked on "rush to get the game finished" chapter like it did in the original.

 

I would recommend it. It's not perfect, but what is? And as I said, if you don't have it already, it's 75% off. If you do have it, but haven't gotten around to it, I'd say it's worth making some time for.
