DROP THERAPY Posted September 13, 2017 I am having a problem with the stairs in doom builder. As you can see here, doom builder renders the top of the stairs perfectly fine: In the actual game, this isn't the case: I have provided the test map to help diagnose the problem. map_1.zip 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 everennui Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Your stairs are not textured in that file. You need to texture the lower and upper parts of the linedef. Addendum: I used GZDoom Builder. Edited September 13, 2017 by everennui 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 DROP THERAPY Posted September 13, 2017 They appear to be textured in doom builder. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 everennui Posted September 13, 2017 Maybe try using a different version or using gzdoom builder. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

0 everennui Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Not likely with Doom Builder. If you do use GZDoom Builder use, GZDoom Builder Bugfix.https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=54957 There's also Doom Builder 2. Edited September 13, 2017 by everennui 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 DROP THERAPY Posted September 14, 2017 nope. I did, however, edit the stairs, but that didn't do anything. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 DROP THERAPY Posted September 14, 2017 I just checked using GZDoom Builder, but it's the same thing. it appears to be completely fine, but it isn't. I am using doom builder 2. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 NeedHealth Posted September 14, 2017 If it is any help, it looks like a node problem or maybe a vector one. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Da Werecat Posted September 14, 2017 Your stairs have infinitely thin sectors in-between them. Which is why you're seeing those paper-thin metal things below the ceiling. I'm sure it's not very healthy for the map's operation. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 DROP THERAPY Posted September 14, 2017 I would fix it, but I don't know how. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Kappes Buur Posted September 14, 2017 (edited) At any time, when you see a linedef with a direction indicator on both sidedef, Spoiler you know that you have some trouble. And a stair sector with 7 sidedefs is even worse. Luckily the fix is easy. Simply draw over each stair sector again to correct the problem. Or you could install the Stair Sector Builder plugin to build even the most complex stairs easily. edit: While you are at that website, download Doom Builder: An Illustrated Guide Edited September 14, 2017 by Kappes Buur 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 DROP THERAPY Posted September 14, 2017 Well I know what to do now, but I don't know how to redraw each stair sector due to the fact that there are already sectors there. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
