yeah wad is standalone but if i remember correctly is not compatible in other sourceports because of color palete right?

BTW if anyone actually wants to create this, List of IWADs would be a better place, because it would have space for basic details about files not important enough for their own articles. (Not creating vanilla IWADs was a gentleman's agreement, not a rule in the code, so there are undoubtedly dozens of examples which are otherwise typical mid-1990s mods.)

True, but it is supported nonetheless :-)

Both SLaVE (slave.wad) and Hypertension: Harmony of Darkness (hyper.wad) are both recognized as official, stand-alone IWADS by EDGE.

^{Not sure if it also counts, but darkwar.wad (Rise of the Triad Registered) is also recognized as an official IWAD by EDGE. I would say Wolfenstein too, but, it is not an IWAD, so that just falls under the supports-other-games category. Just mentioning that offhand, as code does exist to handle them (Wolfenstein much more-so than ROTT currently), support is not completed and is not currently accessible.}

This list would be a lot more useful if it contained links to things (store pages for commercial IWADs, download pages for freeware ones).

I decided to list the IWADs on a text file and link their download pages as well as other info that relates to the IWAD(s). For the commercial IWADs, I linked their Steam store pages and GOG store pages if they have any. I have also linked pages to downgrade patches for Doom and Heretic, since there aren't many alternatives to get an online copy of their registered versions (pre-Ultimate Doom and pre-Shadow of the Serpent Riders respectively). This might help add more to the list and make it convenient to find the IWADs than to just go around the internet looking for them.

Edit: Instead of a text file, I have all the links hidden underneath a spoiler, it is a bit of a list but I have linked as many relevant pages I can.
