I agree. I was unsure if it was Original Post or Original Poster, but the latter usually seems to fit in context better. Although maybe people are using it both ways.

It can be used in the sense of both "Original Post" and "Original Poster" -- which is meant in any specific case can be inferred from context.

 

The OP needs to come along and update their wad. [Original Poster]

The OP contains the updated version of the wad. [Original Post]

Someone stuck a zucchini in the OP. [Depends on whether there's a picture of a zucchini or not.]
