Ermin Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) Survive is a standalone mod made to run exclusively for Gzdoom, using such features like dynamic lighting, PBR and MD3 based models. You take on the role as Leon, who must protect his girlfriend Jess against endless waves of enemies using everything at your disposal. How long can you survive? Post your time, accumulated hex, kill count and stage played on for the scoreboard under the general section. Spoiler This mod focuses on micromanagement implementing Fallout 4 style base building in combination with Call of Duty Zombies horde mode. Construct and purchase supplies and upgrades for your weapons, build turrets and place traps to protect you from the monstrous hordes of enemies you will face. The player will first have a choice of a few unique venues to play in, each with a different theme and layout. You are then prompted with another menu with your desired enemy type, depending on your selected category you will face a abundance of unique monsters with different strengths and weaknesses. You take on the role as Leon who must survive and protect his girlfriend Jess at all costs. You will start with a blacksmiths hammer giving you access to constructs you can build to help defend yourself. Of course this is not free, you will have to carefully manage your HEX resources by building Hex productions. With a steady generating supply you must carefully invest in weapons and constructs, while in the mean time holding off the enemy. Jess will offer words of encouragement and advise, staying close to each other will slowly regenerate both hers and your health. She will occasionally inform what type of monsters are approaching and how close they are. If she dies, then its game over. WORKBENCH - Grants access to weapon upgrades. HEX PRODUCTION - Provides a steady income of Hex. Bronse = 1Hex : 80% chance of spawn. Silver = 5Hex : 50% chance of spawn. Gold = 10Hex : 10% chance of spawn. AMMO CRATE - Provides additional ammo for selected weapon. Stronger Weapons receive less ammo and legendary weapons (purple blueprint) receive none. SUPPLY STASH - Provides 20% health and 5% armour. WEAPONS CACHE - Spawns a random purchasable weapon every few seconds. A purchased weapon wont show again, legendary weapons (purple blueprint) are free and once used can be taken from caches again. (Legendary weapons are weapons based on other old school games and are used here as Easter eggs) JUKEBOX - Provides music while attracting all nearby enemies. BURNING BARREL - Provides a small distant light. SIREN TOWER - When attacked a siren will alert the player, it will also aggro all surrounding monsters in a large radius. WOODEN WALL - Guards against incoming monsters and projectiles. BRICK WALL - Guards against incoming monsters and projectiles. NAIL GUN TURRET - Very weak single shot turret. (Holds 100 Rounds) MACHINEGUN TURRET - A automatic machine gun turret with high spread. (Holds 300 Rounds) SHOTGUN TURRET - A semi automatic multi barrelled shotgun turret. (Holds 50 Rounds) MISSILE NEST - A projectile based turret with explosive rounds. (Holds 40 Rounds) TESLA COIL - A large short range turret that continuously fires ripper type electrical charges. GUT WRENCHS - A hovering mutilated undead that launches its fleshy projectiles, at close range it will lunge at its enemies with its fists. SCREECH - A tall thin undead women that is capable of ripping in to her victims with her razor like fingers. From distances she will scream, dealing heavy damage to the internal organs of her enemies.This does nothing to constructs. BLISTERS - A puss filled undead that explodes on contact or by death, releasing a toxic cloud that lingers for a few seconds. BRUTES - A massive muscle bound undead, capable of tanking dozens of bullets. This beast will charge and slam upon its enemies. SHADOWS - A anonymous humanoid closely resembling a long haired female figure, she spreads her corruption through black liquid like muck. OBESITY - A huge fat undead, capable of withstanding a barrage of bullets all while firing its acidic vomit projectiles. REAPER - A floating skeletal undead, with projectile based attacks. PYROMANIAC - A huge towering undead, with the ability to use and manipulate fire. DESERT KRAKEN - ???? Spoiler SUBWAY - A corridor based arena illuminated by a single light and occasionally a passing train. SEWERS - A corridor based arena illuminated by a single light and occasionally a passing train. DOWNTOWN - Trapped at a intersection, illuminated by cars, street lights and occasionally a helicopter. CORNFIELD - Trapped in a field of corns, illuminated by a farmers broken down tractor. TEMPLE - Barred in and with the only 2 escape routes that are full of monsters, illuminated by the hooded statues and a bell overhead reminding you of your pending doom. BOSS - The home of the desert Kraken. SCHOOL - A mysterious void occupied by a school girl. Spoiler Solace Dreams - (A story about a girl trapped in limbo, forced to face her classmates to the death.)Solace Dreams 2 - (A story about a guy trapped in limbo, forced to save or sacrifice his classmates.) Spoiler For this game specifically, i made all the 3dmodels (with the exception of the plasma rifle), 60% textures, designed the levels, and produced the soundtrack for the game. I also (with a few friends) made all voices in the game. This is a free to play game, i'm giving everybody access to use my custom content with no permission required. Feel free to mod and edit the assets as much as you like and give a little mention to me in your credits, no profit is to be made from my custom content whatsoever. Some assets (textures) were taken (from google) without permission, if you are the author of one or more of the said textures, music or other items and would like me to remove said assets then please contact me. To be honest i just needed something gritty looking. i can very easily change it, i only need to replace the model, the animations are already in place so i dont need to edit nothing. im up for any suggestions and ideas... now would be the perfect opportunity. Ermin Posted January 12, 2018 (edited) A lighting test against the 3dmodels (no dust & fog added yet)... unfortunately the models dont receive ambient occlusion on its self so the Topology may still look a little flat in some places. Ermin Posted January 17, 2018 (edited) I hate myself for showing this off early in development but i know some of you might get a kick out of this, i will be introducing "legendary weapons" in to the game. These familiar weapons will spawn very rarely from your weapons cache but will have infinite ammo for a short period of time. And the first weapon introduced to this new feature will be the .... Spoiler THE RIPPER Duke nukems legendary chaingun. ALSO...Update PA 0.5 -All weapons will shoot bullet projectiles, no cheap hitscan weapons will be used in this game. -Collision based 3d Sparks with dust and smoke particles added to bullet projectiles. Ermin Posted January 18, 2018 (edited) Here is a video demonstrating the gatling cannon in action including the upgraded version.Please note that to video FPS is capped at a low frame rate so muzzle flashs and barrel spin will look weird. -video removed- Other update info -Custom gun firing sound -Gatling cannon now has a animated bulletchain when firing. But its still early days, ive almost finished with the alpha, i have a few weapons compelted, constructs are working perfectly and now i need to add some monsters an music. This construct provides a steady income of HEX the main resource of the game. Here are a list of other changes made aswell... -New intro sequence. -Fully functioning weapons for weapon cache. (I used multiple because MD3 only supports 4k polys i think) This applies for the First person weapons too, an for texturing i used a mishmash of textures i found on google an just painted them on the models. Ermin Posted January 23, 2018 (edited) UPDATE ALPHA 0.1 I am proud to say now that the mod is finally out of pre alpha, with all the core codes complete. Here is a video demonstrating the weapons crate and hex production or resource gathering. When a weapon is purchased from a crate, the same weapon from other crates is replaced by a new one that isnt already in your inventory. The resource is gathered from the hex production that randomly generates 3 types on HEX (resource), bronze grants 1 point, silver 3 and RARE gold 5. A infinite number of these structures can be built. Please watch the video in full, post your ideas and opinions VIDEO REMOVED Whats left now is the design. Maps, weapons and monsters.... this is going to be a slow process. I would gladly welcome any help you can offer, music, art and 3d models are things i need badly to get the project out quicker to you.Remember to donate and have your own custom designs put in, i will do all the work for you. Its not 100% done, but its close enough. it holds 100 rounds and can be mounted anywhere.
