DBThanatos Posted February 6, 2018 (edited) WHAT IS THIS? “QC: Doom Edition” is a mod that brings the weapons from the latest Quake game, into Doom, with delicious pixelated flavor. More than just weapons, it also brings the “Champions” mechanic -- different player classes, each one with unique status, speed, active and passive abilities MAIN FEATURES ➢ All weapons from Quake Champions, with faithful firing times for best transferable experience ➢ Weapon upgrades that give each weapon a whole new role ➢ 29 champions to play, each with unique abilities ➢ Play Single Player, Cooperative, Survival ➢ Monster sets to mix and match: Doom, Doom 4, Quake, Quake 2, Quake 4 ➢ Play Deathmatch, CTF, Domination (and more!) ➢ Compatible with GZDoom from 1.9.1 to 3.6.0 (for single player + fancy effects) ➢ Compatible with Zandronum 3.0 (for SP and all types of multiplayer) ➢ Compatible with Delta Touch (for Quakin' on the go!) ➢ Enhanced Deathmatch bots for both local and public use ➢ AeonQCDE: a dedicated version of AeonDM (33 maps, Cacoward) with custom spawn points for a better Quake-like experience ➢ QCDEmaps: a set of 29 QCDE-specific maps, including both original and demakes from QC, Q1, Q3, Q4, QL and Doom 4 ➢ Optional soundtrack by Michael Markie with original songs and covers of well-known favorites ➢ Damage numbers, speedometer, in-game champion info screens, and tons of customization with very sane defaults ➢ Lootboxes! For free! ➢ And more! Why would you even? Because sometimes the world doesn't need another hero, it needs a monster I'm unoriginal like that :P Other than that, because I always find I want to use weapons from a game, moreso a DM-only game like QC, in a single player environment where a zillion maps are available. There is real fun in using these weapons in a semi-endless solo environment. And while we're at it, we might as well enable the DM part to play with Zandronum. What's new in v2.0? ➢ New Champion: Postal Dude ➢ 2 New Maps: Sarnath (QC), Lh'owon of Ice and Fire (original) ➢ New Gamemode: FreezeTag Who? Developers (the usual suspects): DBThanatos Michaelis With next level spritework by: Franco Tieppo With champion lore written by: Ivory Duke With modern metal soundtrack by: Michael Markie With many maps by: RoosTer DOWNLOAD Go get QC:DE (and it's related files) over here:DOWNLOAD QC:DE MEDIA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9Z_qPsM3RM Edited April 19, 2019 by DBThanatos 27 Quote Share this post Link to post
DoodGuy Posted February 6, 2018 This just might be one of the best things all year, I really hope this one gets the cacoward for all the effort that has been put in this. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
DrPyspy Posted February 7, 2018 Very excited to see the release of this! I'm most excited to try out the Inquisitor, as his style seems right up my alley. The HUD looks great too, although the portraits seem a bit muddy, but I suppose that can't be helped with the resolution of the sprites and all. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DBThanatos Posted February 9, 2018 Thank you! Yes, the portrait are basically upscaled versions of the sprites themselves. We thought of adding hi-res portraits for some champs that do have high res versions around the net, but that's only some of them and that inconsistency between some portraits being hi-res and others being very low res was too drastic. So we settled with having them all muddy. :P 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DBThanatos Posted February 9, 2018 Sorry for double post. But here's the last update before tomorrow's release 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

WH-Wilou84 Posted February 11, 2018 Having a blast with this in FFA against bots. This is addictive, fun, and super-fast :) The mod is also nicely packaged, with .bat files, manuals, etc... High quality all around. It was well worth the wait. Congrats on the release, DBT & team ! 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
ReX Posted February 12, 2018 Wonderful trailers. Glad to see you back in the saddle, DBT. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

DiEnd Posted March 26, 2018 (edited) Sorry for bumping, but I found a bug. Whenever I'm moving to a new level, my Nailgun ammo goes down a bit. I was playing with GZ 3.2.5 on PS1 Doom mapset. Edit: This only happens when I pick a backpack. Edited March 27, 2018 by DiEnd More data. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Master O Posted March 26, 2018 (edited) DBThanatos, if you ever intend to add Lo Wang from Shadow Warrior, I'd suggest making him a stealth character, given that he is a ninja. Evasion would be his biggest strength, as well as hand-to-hand combat. Another observation: This mod is quickly turning into the Marvel vs Capcom of the FPS genre. Speaking of new character requests, please add Ion Maiden too after her game is formally released next year. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
JohnnyTheWolf Posted August 29, 2018 (edited) Playing 1.4 right now. I have zero interest in Quake Champions, it being a competitive multiplayer shooter and all, but this mod is surprisingly fun! However, maybe it has already been reported and it is going to get fixed in a later version, but I seem to have trouble getting 100% Items on single-player maps. It seems to be caused by Health and Armour Bonuses getting randomly replaced by the cooldown reduction item, i.e. the Hourglass pickup. Also, I hear Caleb's taunts whileplaying as the Quake Ranger. Is that intentional? Edited August 29, 2018 by JohnnyTheWolf 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DBThanatos Posted August 30, 2018 (edited) Oh! i'll look into the hourglasses. Im not sure if it's indeed what's causing it. As far as caleb taunts... that's not normal. Which engine and version of it are you using? @Master O: we'd like to add her for sure. We asked permission but indeed it was requested we wait until it's fully released. But yeah, that'd be another cool champ to have around. Edited August 30, 2018 by DBThanatos 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
JohnnyTheWolf Posted August 30, 2018 (edited) I use GZDoom 3.5.0. As for the Ranger using Caleb's quotes, I went back to check, this time with the taunt chance slider to maximum, and I realise I was mistaken, though in my defense the Ranger does sound a lot like Caleb. Anyway, I noticed the Revenants, Hell Knights and Barons of Hell do not have Quake II replacements. Was that done on purpose or do you plan to address this issue in the future? Finally, GZDoom's scaling options seem to have been disabled by this mod. Edited August 30, 2018 by JohnnyTheWolf 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

VanaheimRanger Posted March 20, 2019 What would happen if I tried to play this in GZDoom 3.7.2? Since it says only up to 3.6.0.supported? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DBThanatos Posted April 19, 2019 @guitardz It'll be fine, I suppose. 3.6.0 was the newest back then. But TBH we havent tested. If it worked fine in 3.6.0, should work fine with newer Anyway! it's time. We all wanted to go postal over here! v2.2 has been released. Master O Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) @DBThanatos Cool release! Never thought I'd see the guy from Postal in here. Anyway, on an unrelated note, can you also add Blake Stone to QCDE? Edited April 19, 2019 by Master O 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
