Chocolate Doom on Linux

How can I get it to work? I just installed it, but I don't know where to put my IWADs. And for the future, is there a command I could run to help me find out such things on my own?

$HOME/.local/share/games/doom just for your user account, /usr/share/games/doom for all users.

Then, you can run something like this from a terminal window:

chocolate-doom -iwad doom2.wad -merge "cool megawad.wad" -deh "cool dehacked patch bundled with that cool megawad.deh"

You can also place wads in /usr/local/share/games/doom if you want to keep them separate from the base /usr folder structure that the package manager controls.
