Sui Generis
This is a pretty solid '94 level. It's quite tight and features tech with the odd hell themed area. There are quite a few monsters to blast through and good use of height and light variation in areas. You can spend a large part of the map with the shotgun which is a pain with the barons, but once you get the RL and Plasma it eases off. Gameplay is paced pretty well with progression never being too obscure. This is not the greatest 94 level but it’s pretty solid for the time and is certainly above average.x

Can be completed in about 8 seconds . Hint: check linedefs 136&137. Besides that blunder, from a 1994 POV this map this offers a small adventure with varying layout and texture use, and on places nice ambiance and gameplay. Note that in 1994 most players did not use a mouse, which makes gameplay on places less easy. Rated as early 1994 map, thus ignoring most of the many flaws typical for that era: 3* average because playing this gave some fun.x

Good stuff. There is a right way and a wrong way to do this map. Not much of a way out if you picked wrong.x

This is dated June 1994; it's old, and it's surprisingly good. The layout is a vintage techbase with very little attention to texture alignment, but it's intricate and much better than the typical 1994 dreck. You fight 117 monsters, including a surprisingly number of barons for a 1994 level, although once you get the plasma gun it's a lot easier (there's a rocket launcher, but the layout is a bit too cramped for safe use). Would benefit from a modern makeover.x

Wow, what a fun map! The setting is a base with various texture schemes (some of which clash, but I've seen worse). Lots of tricks and traps; it's easy to make mistakes and get killed. Without finding secrets infighting is needed to make the ammo last. There are one or two visual bugs/problems and there's one place where you can get yourself stuck, that's about it from the complaint department. The zip also contains a much less impressive level (a small plasma blastfest). --3/5x
