Title: The Titan Anomaly

Author: Jim Flynn
Description: While exploring for new mines on Titan (someone fragged the old one - darn!) UAC discovered the remains of an alien base. A tight security lid was clamped on the find, referred to only vaguely as the Anomaly in reports. You've been assigned the job of breaking in and finding out whats going on.

A UAC research base and security garrison has grown up around the Anomaly, and you'll begin your visit in the Security Holding Area, where you'll be asked to show your papers. Too bad you don't have any. You'll need to explore the Vistor's Center (S), the Science Admin. Building (N), the Security Headquarters (E), and the Guard Barracks to gain the keys that'll allow you access to the Anomaly Research Area (W), where, if you're lucky, you may just find an exit back home.

Good, tricky (impossible in some points for ammo)x

Looks a bit promising at the start: the gameplay is crappy and grindy but the design is somewhat interesting and unusual. But it drags on and on and on, and after some time you're unable to appreciate the visuals/atmosphere anymore and just want this map to end ASAP.x

This is actually dated August 1995. It is by Jim Flynn, who was one of the early superstars of the Doom level editing scene. This level has the author's style, but it's not one of his best. The layout is large and simple, with lots of monsters, but it's marred by some irritating puzzles, and it's a bit of a slog to play through. The design has some nice touches but seems very bare nowadays. There's a fair amount of action though.x
