Title: Eulogy v1.2
Filename: levels/doom2/d-f/eulogy.zip
Size: 83.88 KB
Date: 05/04/98
Author: Cyberdemon (Mike Watson)
Description: No real story, I just wanted to make a nice tough PWAD that Doomers could have some fun with. Note that it is pretty tough(especially skill 4)

This is also a bug fix for the original eulogy.wad You see, Waded has a crappy internal nodes builder which has a tendancy to leave holes in the walls. After getting someone to record a demo for me, I decided to fix it(it was quite annoying). This PWAD is bug free.
Credits: id Software(of course), myself(hey, I made the damn thing) and Kurt Kesler for his K-Metl series, which partly inspired this wad, and Aurican for making a demo on this level(included)
Base: New level from scratch. Sky from Doom e1.
Build time: Took me three days(overall)...I'd say six or so hours(bug fix took 10 mins)
Editor(s) used: WadED v1.83, NWT, and Warm v1.6
Bugs: No bugs anymore. I really love Warm!

This is from May 1998. It's a very average level, where the author basically had two ideas (descending pillars, and trick walls). The gameplay is irritatingly mazey and involves a lot of switch-flicking and backtracking. The big cyberdemon battle is meh, and leaves you with enough rockets to spend the rest of the level rocketing everything, including imps etc, assuming you don't kill yourself in the cramped maze.x

More original than most maps but architecture isn't great. Gameplay on uv is good, you'll die if you rush here. Way too much ammo (shells and bullets). I had to play the demo to find out that you had to activate the red lantern in the hallway. That wasn't obvious at all. All in all an entertaining pwad that I had fun with. 3 1/2 stars coldfusio.x
