Uh oh

Quick update: Ok, so today was my final day going at my school. The last time I went there was 2 weeks ago for the final exams IIRC and today I came back to see my grades, like every other guy and girl did. I was worried at first, since you never know who will correct your papers (it could be a 25 year old teacher or a 60 year old teacher). Apparently, I got 15 at Essay, 18,4 at Physics, 19 at Chemistry and 16,4 at Mathematics (especially that exam was an <<axe>> in terms of difficulty, as we call it here). I guess I scored enough points (17279 to be precise) and I will 90% be able to go at the university I like, if all goes as planned. I am really happy today, if you couldn't guess. And they are also giving us our certificates for being at that high school, at an event during 20:00 today, which includes our headteacher's speech, crappy music played directly from the school's Windows XP Pentium 4 pc, using 20 year old speakers (what a great setup that must have been 20 years ago, but not today) and a buffet of sweets (the highlight of the event in my opinion, yey). But what does this status update really mean? It means more time for Dooming and no stress about grades and subjects for at least 3 months. At last, I can be 100% relaxed (I was 90% relaxed before this day).

Is it me or are consumer and gaming cases becoming actively hostile to people who still use hard drives? Migrating my Phenom II's HDD over to my new Ryzen box made me almost want to kill myself. The best part was when I had finally gotten the stupid clip that holds in the HDD cage seated, only to have to push it back out of its seat so I could close the case without the SATA power cables bulging out. Stupid stupid stupid. I kind of wish I had bought a high-end workstation or server case instead. The "toolless drive cage" will make you wish you could just screw the fucking HDD in too. (my case is the Corsair Crystal Series 460X, if you care. I do not recommend it to people lacking in manual dexterity or cable management skills.)

A little rant to self because self ranting is necessary. Been declining every weaboo event that I used to go and maybe going to do so for the rest of the year for the sake of researching phase of my secret project. Including my mouse restriction post that most of people found bs (but that's not the point they have a valid argument). I can't give up now.

Just now discovering the horrors of lighting and texturing and I gotta say, they're both a royal pain. Really hard to strike a balance between consistency and presenting enough of a difference to keep things from looking repetitive. Lots of textures still need to be properly aligned and I still have to add other little details to make it look more interesting but I'm actually really satisfied with how this is turning out. Looks a hell of a lot better than I was expecting it to at least, so that's a win in my book.

I'm sure it's a perfectly excellent monkey, but I don't want it. Now please leave, I'm very busy.

I think I'm extra weak to fanservice. In Doom 4, the classic maps have the textures fucked up scale wise, the lighting's mostly gone, and there are physics bugs abound, and yet I'm really enjoying finding all of them and playing through them with the new game mechanics. I've found them up to slough of despair, I wonder what the largest one is.
