April Fool's Days?

fp! That's a dumb release date. I mean if that were true there would be ALOT more doom3 information on the net. And we'd hear about a beta or something. And there are alot of fake release dates floating around lately. From what i've heard it will be released at the end of the year. Sorta like the original doom

Personally I think we should all try to believe it'll be out in time for Christmas; that way we're far more likely to be pleasantly suprised when it comes out "early" than immensely disappointed when it comes out "late".

It sounds fishy, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

Not if they are going for a stealth release.

I think id is taking a hint from Action DooM.

I wonder if it will be released that day, because then painkiller and doom3 will be mine on the same day! :D

Personally I don't mind exactly when it comes out - even though I can play it now, I've got plenty of other stuff to do (and in any case, it's not gonna stop me from playing and mapping classic DooM). As long as it doesn't become another Duke Forever/4th Prodigy album, then it's fine.

I would say: Don't believe them .

Just a reminder to everyone that the official release date for DOOM 3 is "when it's done".
If you hear a release date from _anyone_ outside of id, then you should presume it to be false.
There have been some rumors floating around about this already, and I expect there will be more
between now and the time that you first see someone from id update a .plan file with the news
that the game has been finished. Don't believe them.

The best part about conspiracy theories and paranoia is that you don't have to believe the official word.

In fact, it works better if you don't.
