  • Doom 3 = Bad?

    Linguica

What? How dare anyone say that... anyways, Gamespy has posted an article entitled Doom 3: Possibly The Worst Idea In The History Of Gaming which talks about why Doom 3 might not be everything it's cracked up to be. I'm writing a rebuttal to the article right now, so don't flame them too much :)

Quake was more satisfying for three major reasons: one, Romero made some of the greatest Military levels of his career there (even comparable to the Knee Deep in Death's): E1M1, E2M1, and E3M1. two, the Quake marine was as fast as the Doom marine (whereas the Quake2/3 (wo)man runs like a wounded turtle). three, Quake1's keyboard controls worked pretty much like the keyboard controls of Doom, whereas Quake2's keyboard control s.u.c.k.s. Summary: GET ROMERO WORKING ON DOOM3 !!! :)

First and foremost - poster of "Quake vs Quake2", please learn that ONE POST IS ENOUGH. WE DO NOT NEED, OR WANT, FOUR.

Furthermore, we already know that Romero does good stuff. Okay?

And, lastly, anon who compared id to fingers on a hand - I beg of you never to use the adjective "mighty" with the noun "fist". It sounds like a b-grade RPG.

It's still a good analogy, though...just that "mighty" takes a lot away from it. You sound like a Baldur's Gate character (God, I hate Baldur's Gate...never mind).
