Yay, finally I can use the mousewheel to switch weapons :D

Did you suffer the last 15 years without that? :)

    Btw, IWAD-picker is buggy.
    1. Start eternity on doom2.wad map01
    2. Select doom.wad from GUI and load it - all is ok
    3. Select doom2.wad from GUI and try to load it:

    D_SetGraphicsMode: Set graphics mode
    59 texture errors.
    Press any key to continue

Have you tested the same IWAD file with -iwad? No issue like this was revealed during my testing. The IWAD picker does NOT set the gamemode or interpret the IWAD file in any way; it only passes it down to the BOOM code that has always been used for loading the IWAD. It's just a fancy graphical shell that functions over a string array - extremely simple despite looking fancy.

You should switch between Doom2 and Ultimate Doom iwads two times. doom2->udoom->doom2

That has nothing to do with the iwad picker. You were loading IWADs with the in-game PWAD picker. To my knowledge, the in game picker doesn't support loading of IWADS.

    Edit (for clarification):

The IWAD picker looks for a list of game IWADS from base/system.cfg and displays a small UI *before* EE boots fully.

Note that the IWAD paths can also be set from within EE itself, on the last page of the WAD Options menu.

Which is new for this release, btw ;)
