A look at the insanely cool Phobos: Anomaly Reborn. Remember, send in those Doom pics!
Guest Excalibur_Z Posted June 16, 2001 The lighting looks fine to me... like the sun would appear just above the mountain, barely out of the vision of the player. * Excalibur_Z wonders if a sextant was used in figuring out the angle of shadow Link to comment
Guest Captain Napalm Posted June 17, 2001 I never pay attention to the sky texture when placing shadows, I just do what looks cool or is easiest. But of course I won´t have like the shadows going south and then later in smae level going north or something. bah Lighting is so mucher easier in Quake. But then again everything else is harder...:) Link to comment
BillyBlaze Posted June 17, 2001 That's a very good question and one that I can't really answer. Guess I was just a bit bored of reading comments about dodgy lighting so I turned out the lights on Phobos.. Link to comment
Guest Bitterman Posted June 18, 2001 It wouldn't take more than half an hour to make a decent sky on that texture using a PaintShop or something to solve that light source problem...the question is that without an image wide enough to take 360 degrees u would have more than one sun...I known that the demons took the place and twisted it with oxigen, gravity, trees(no, this they didn't in E1) and whatsoever they got on their heads, but they didn't make Solar sistem become a binary one. Let's leave the demons with their weird environment in peace. Link to comment

Lutz Posted June 18, 2001 I used WinDEU 5.2 for the architecture, and added BOOM/MBF effects with DETH (and used BSP 3.0 to build the level). Link to comment
