The US server is always set up; for the SoD session, the name was "Dwango United - Thursday Night Survival (#102 -Speed of Doom (Part II revisited))" and I can see it in the launcher np.

The turnout for the US sessions isn't as big as it is for Euro, sometimes the game fails to take off, but there are plans to live it up. For now, try joining the server with a friend at the time of the event; if there's activity, it is very probable that more people will start joining shortly after.

If you are interested in playing the US sessions regularly, you can try to find other people interested in it too, and create your own community around it - that's what we have for Euro and we always have a core group of friends forming each week to shoot monsters with - you can use ZDaemon IRC and forums to aid you in achieving this.
