    Help Out

Good hell map, a bit unusual like '94 wads.
I think I played this level before, without all the extra graphics & sound? Pretty good "house" level anyway.

    Savior

Door to south-west room is broken in vanilla.

    8ISENUF.WAD

Tough map, it will probably require about 3 attempts to beat. Don't save the game though, it's too small to bother with that (and anyway there's one spot where you can end up stuck).
It's quite good, except for the huge number of monsters that blink in & out (because there's too many things in view). This must have been during his slaughter phase (he got much better at enemy/thing placement later on). Btw you can strafe between those red platforms, but probably it's not designed for that because you can get stuck (at least I did, had to noclip out of one teleport exit room).

    Andy Bay's House

First key is in the basement, the other in a dangerous room.

    Do That Imp

Great map, with perfect level of detail, and moody lighting. I'm surprised this is a first map! (especially since it's made with DEU)

    NASTYimp.deh

Needs DeHackEd version 2, and Doom version 1.666. Maybe will work on later versions, after converting patch to new text format.

    Imp Invasion!

Must play for all crusher fans. There's lots of imps too. No preview screenshots though.

    Deep Purple

Some pretty good fights, but mostly easy because of all the health & armor. I liked the lighting effects except the strobbing blue room.

    Gatika

There's no armor or health. I played with MBF dogs that got killed early on, then finished up alone with the big guns. Interesting concept.

    The Hells Pit

Something went really wrong here... WAD is unplayable due to bogus flats, textures, and things. But anyway there doesn't seem to be much to it: 6 sectors, 8 cyberdemons, and some hellish theme. You could quickly whip up something similar with any level editor...

    Doom 2 crashed

That sound doesn't even play in Chocolate Doom for some reason (bogus header, according to dm2au). Anyway it's a nice short map for exploration, not much fighting. I don't recognize the in-game tune (the other two are indeed from Devil's Crash, aka Dragon's Fury).

    DemonGate v.1.0

Far too easy (too much ammo & health) but otherwise decent 1994 map. Pity it's so short (note: exit switch isn't marked as such, it's located not far beyond BK door).
The WAD timestamp is Jan 2002, but it really looks/feels like a 1994 map. It's short and easy once you figure out the right path. The major hazards aren't the monsters but environment: damaging blood sector (that unfortunately doesn't stand out from adjacent normal blood) and a "fake" RK deathtrap.
