  1. It's been awhile, KM. Here's hoping that all is well and we hear from you soon. :)

  2. Hey, hope everything is okay! Haven't seen you around in a while.

  3. Season 8 of ONEMANDOOM: Mapping at the Speed of FIGHT!  (July 15th, 2014 - January 3rd, 2015)

Season 8 kicked off with The Definitive T_DUNNxx.WAD Series - For Doom and starts out with a mix of older material - Top 100 features from the year 2000, obscure, and underrated - before going whole hog on 2014 in the latter half. And what a year was 2014!

  5. It's time for my review of Short 'n Quick 2 by @Varun.
  6. Re: The Language of Lists

For my own part, I think that I've tried to adhere to the nebulous distinction of "featured in the XXXX Cacowards", not that I've given myself much opportunity to practice this over the past four or so years.

  7. Uhh, yesterday was too busy for me to even click post so here is my review of Deep Core 1 by @Use! This is another great, classically-styled Doom II level with a fun layout and a highly-restricted bestiary as befits an early level in a prospective megaWAD.
  8. It's been five days - you know what that means! This review of Entryway / KARMEA.WAD by @Espi (RIP) is more for WAD historians as it is an early version of Suspended in Dusk's MAP01. If you are the kind of player who enjoys more subdued Doom II action then you will want to give this one a look.
  9. Season 9 of ONEMANDOOM: Per Your Request  (January 10th, 2015 - June 26th, 2015)

Season 9 kicked off with Bedlam and is largely shaped by reader requests, which is why it covers such a broad span of popular material. It also contains a brief dip into Maximum Doom material, some 2014 follow-ups, me easing my way into Ribbiks's brand of high skill-ceiling gameplay with Stardate 20X6 and Swim With the Whales, and a timely review of the incredible Valiant.

  10. Season 10 of ONEMANDOOM: How ERKATANE Stole X-Mas  (June 29th, 2015 - December 22nd, 2015)

Season 10 kicked off with Dark Side of Deimos and includes among other things a review of the massive and excellent 32in24-14 megaWAD as well as Sunlust which has since eclipsed Hell Revealed as Voted Most Likely to Be Inappropriately Recommended to Newbies. It's a big run of 2015 releases, capped off with hacking my way through Paul's back catalogue at the tail end in an effort to flesh out less-explored classics. And, uh, watch out for the review of The Rebirth, which is snuck in right after 32in24-14. This season is, to me, a bittersweet remembrance due to the vitriol surrounding the 2015 Cacowards. I was and to some extent still am disillusioned with the community.

  11. Season 11 of ONEMANDOOM: DOOM Gone Bad  (December 29th 2015 - June 23rd 2016)

Season 11 kicked off with my review of the ubiquitous Xaser recc, The Beginning of the End (Part 1). The direction of the first half of the year was largely driven by first an interest in digging into Torm's Doomja Vu contest and later a desire to start playing through Chris Hansen's career as part of a build toward 2002: A Doom Odyssey. This is interspersed with 2015 hangovers, 2016 hopefuls (including Romero's Tech Gone Bad and Phobos Mission Control!), and a playthrough of both OG Doom as well as E4.

Season 12 kicked off with my review of the level That Urban Sence... but this is a fairly arbitrary distinction. This is the last time that my review blog has been more or less relevant to what has been going on in the community as there is a lot of material from 2016 in here, with much of it going on to be featured in the 2016 Cacowards. The major outliers here are Chris and Paul's solo releases, sneakily laying the foundation for my build toward 2002: A Doom Odyssey.

    Season 12: The Book of Relevation (July 2nd, 2016 - December 15th, 2016)

  13. Season 13 of ONEMANDOOM: END1 or Adventures in Copypasting (December 22nd, 2016 - April 23rd, 2017)

Season 13 kicked off with my review of the level Don't Drink the Water. This period of reviews is almost exclusively dedicated toward covering the WADographies of the folks involved with Doomworld's Top 10 WADs of 2001 (specifically Kurt Kesler, Ed Cripps, Russell Pearson, Fredrk Johansson, Rex Claussen, and Tommie Quick). The sole exception is my review of the absolutely fantastic No End In Sight. I lost my way while I was playing through The Inquisitor 3, largely due to work / life balance and looking at what I had committed myself to in with regards to the community, and went on an extended hiatus / withdrew from the Cacowards so that I could recharge and return with a better self-perspective.

  14. You are most welcome! No End In Sight's E3M7 ("Netherworld Citadel") feels like another one of these kinds of maps in spirit, not just because of the body of the main level that's locked behind the one-shot path through the catwalk nexus but the secret jaunt through relatively isolated excerpts of END1's E1M1 and E2M4.
  15. Season 14 of ONEMANDOOM: A Quick One (July 17th, 2017 - November 30th, 2017)

Season 14 ended a period of burnout and kicked off with my review of The Inquisitor 3. This timespan has relatively few reviews but features inroads toward finishing Doomworld's Top 10 WADs of 2001, hints at my quest toward 2002: A Doom Odyssey with Joe Pallai's solo works, and covers some favored Memfis material with WADographies of Tony Sideris and Shamus Young. I also cherry-picked Deus Vult from the request list in order to kick off a deeper look at the roots of the slaughter / high-skill ceiling gameplay that exists as it does today.
