Best time to look for Deathmatch games in AEST?
AF-Domains.net replied to OnionTaco22's topic in Multiplayer Doom
It tends to be hit and miss. A relative gauge tends to be.. perhaps between 13:00 and 20:00 AEST (based on current observations this "may" "perhaps" provide the best opportunity). Usually the best methods tend to be: 1) Joining related Discord and/or Chat (IRC) servers/channels 2) Connecting to the game server that you want to play (and if there are bots perhaps play a few rounds) Also the combination of the two, pasting the IP:Port of the given game server or the sourceport specific link into the channel/server in question.- 1 reply

Can't make a new account on DOOM Explorer
AF-Domains.net replied to Anti's topic in Multiplayer Doom
If you've tried a number of different username combinations you may also want to try specifying a different password (just in case that ends up being the culprit). Unfortunately the message displayed via Doom Explorer goes into very little detail; if you attempted to create an account with the ZDaemon Launcher and an error message was received (aside from "Cannot connect to the Master Server") it'll provide more detail regarding why the creation attempt has failed. The full error message from the ZDaemon Launcher's perspective would be as follows: Invalid username or password The username must obey the following rules: * The first character can be a letter, underscore or left bracket. * Subsequent characters can be letters, digits, hyphens, underscores or right brackets. * Square brackets (if any) must be balanced. * The clan tag (if any) cannot be more than 5 chars. long. * Its length (excluding clan tags) cannot be less than 3 chars. * Its length (including clan tags) cannot be more than 15 chars. * It is NOT supposed to be ASCII art; it must contain more alphanumerics than other chars. The password must obey the following rules: * Its length cannot be less than 3 chars. * Its length cannot be more than 15 chars. If the above rules are satisfied, then the username contains words that have been explicitly blocked for various reasons. If so, you'll have to use another nickname. -
This week we continue with Part II of our journey through the world of Stomper, a wad created by Pawel Zarczynski. This wad was created initially as a demo in 2012 but was shelved in 2013. What we are left with today is an “unfinished” wad. While that may be, this wad still offers new textures, bonus maps, and even some unique weapon sprites. For this session we will be running through the first portion of the wad, so hop in and help us survive! Date: February 23, 2024 Time: 8:00PM CST Server: [USDQC] Friday Night Survival #234 - Stomper (Part II) DMFLAGS: 1174487140 / 806496256 / 0 Skill: Ultra-Violence Lives: 1 IWAD: doom2 PWAD: stomperbeta2.wad, stomperguns.wad Maps: MAP16-19,21-30,34,36 Players: 25/32 To keep up with The US Doom & Quake Community, join the USDQC Discord

A follow-up 1.10.24 release has now been made; for the full run-down you'll want to check out the changelog. Highlights - Joystick axis controls can now have general functions bound to them via the Customize Controls area. NOTE: Key binds and axis functions can be used at the same time. To avoid unintended behaviour it's better to just use one of them. - Player names on the chatblock list are now stored within the main client game ini file. - A new 'chat_block_list' command has been introduced to list the currently present chatblocks. - For 'chat_unblock' you can now remove entries based on their index by using the @ prefix.

At the moment the ZDaemon client is primarily on Windows (though the most recent Mac build maintained by Lyfe is functional). However if you wish to use a launcher that is capable of querying all three (or four if you include DoomsDay) multiplayer sourceports, there is Doom Explorer. The Windows ZDaemon client (and other tools) can also be run via WINE/Proton if there is a desire to give it a go under Linux.

ZDaemon 1.10.24 is now available; ZDaemon Launcher users will be able to update by going to Help -> Check for Updates. The Linux and BSD ZServ binaries are available via the Downloads page. This version contains several nice additions, improvements and fixes; for the full run-down you'll want to check out the changelog. Please note: 1.10.24 servers will require all players to update to the latest version. Highlights - Line thickness for Automap added as CVAR 'am_linethickness' or 'Line thickness' in Display Options. Setting the value to zero will automatically adjust it depending on the screen resolution. - Add additional episode detection for Retail Doom in order to better account for official and unofficial episode additions. - Joystick support extended. Function of the two joysticks can be set to Forward, Strafe, Yaw, Pitch and Fly. Settings can be found in 'Advanced Input Options'. - Chex Quest is now a selectable game in the Launcher and Wizard. For ZDaemon Launcher users, you'll be able to update by going to Help -> Check For Updates. For Doom Explorer users, our setup executable and archive have been updated accordingly in the Downloads section.

ZDaemon Thursday Night Survival #638 - 1 Fast Fight
AF-Domains.net replied to TeamTNS's topic in Multiplayer Doom
There isn't a US session, but at this current time we're going through the Rocket Launcher-only rotation. EDIT: Now we're on "Kill 'em all" - a most interesting prospect at present. -
ZDaemon Thursday Night Survival #630 - ichinichi (Part II)
AF-Domains.net replied to TeamTNS's topic in Multiplayer Doom
Unfortunately problems were being encountered as a result of a foul wind from a south-easterly position (relative). The master is accessible again at this stage though. -
That could make for a fun deathmatch session once it has been released.

A new version of the ZDaemon 1.10.23 client has been released. ZDaemon Launcher users can retrieve the new files by going to Help -> Check For Updates, otherwise the updated files are available via our setup executable and archive via the Downloads section. From the changelog: - 'client_ar' CVAR has been added, this will allow you to set a specific game display format (The game display format you set will only be used if it is equal to or below the maximum allowed format as dictated by the 'sv_aspectratio' CVAR). 'Max. Game Display Format' has been added under 'Display Options'. - The legacy CVARs 'fullscreen', 'fullscreen_bl' and 'mouse_sensitivity' will now have the prefix 'l_' added to them to ensure that there are no post-migration conflicts.

Those wads definitely had their own convention. Though when it comes to the la_compilation wads, the later versions were done independently; the differing map naming conventions are to denote the different level types.

What you're describing sounds similar to the LA wads that were (and still are) being hosted. I'm not sure if any of thse wad names (partial names) will ring a bell: la-archiinvasion la-lavaworld la-spacestation la-swampworld la-waterworld
