  1. @Aeddes666 Hear good things about it. Unlike the KSG which has twin tubes the DP-12 pictured above is indeed double barrel, it sounds like the operation is identical to how the old SBS and O/U shotguns work except you pump to load the next two shots from separate magazines. I think id based the Q2 SSG on the NeoStead 2000 which has a very similar profile but functions like the KSG.
  2. @Rudolph Oh I know they're frankly a joke and simply a guideline, a list of no-nos if you will, as war crimes will always be a thing, but Deus Ex and modern Fallouts are certainly an eye-opener when it comes to how plasma weapons are portrayed in the Doom universe.
  3. The Geneva Conventions would also take issue with the fact plasma assigns horrific burns and would melt people into goop.
  4. Yes bullets and explosives hurt everything, just like in real life!
  5. @Rudolph I think it's because the plasma weapons are experimental UAC technology and haven't been officially rolled out yet. Doom 3 enforces this to an extent with the BFG, as the plasma rifle iirc was approved for service. E: Should also note the BFG in Doom 3 has some chip inside the energy ball that can apparently distinguish between friend and foe and is the reason you can shoot the ball out of the air by destroying the chip. I guess the chip is placed in suspended animation within the energy ball and I don't know it honestly kinda doesn't really make any sense lol.
  6. Older models had two triggers so yes, newer models on the other hand have only one, which if anything makes it easier to do. Unlike video games you didn't really want to fire both barrels at once due to the recoil lol.
  7. Some of these finds are surprising even me damn, good catch.
  8. I thought this was going to consist of numerous takes on TNT's MAP22: Habitat. Everybody laugh. LAUGH!
  9. @Rudolph They're simple designs thus reliable, they can have different chokes for each barrel depending on the user's requirements, and there's a faster follow up shot compared to a pump action.
  10. If only she knew how many rounds she was gonna have going through her before Doom II was concluded.
  11. Doom proved that humanity's best chance for survival against hell invasions is just a couple of tubes with some explosives packed in the middle.
  12. >FIND THE MARKERS I didn't find the markers people.
  13. You'll have fun with Raven btw they reuse a LOT of assets predating their more famous Heretic and Hexen games. Especially sounds but probably because they're stock.
  14. It would've been unfeasible given the technology at the time but something about a mundane card game before everything started going to hell would've been mind-blowing in '93, like the intro to Prey 13 years later. Just imagining the lights suddenly going out on them and then coming back on but flickering and hearing the sounds of teleporting and monsters roaming in the background with the sounds of gunshots followed by dying marines.
  15. @Craneo Is Nugget Doom thus your least favorite source port as a result of this incident?
  16. I've always liked that one room in E4M8: The Nameless City in Quake where they used a modified greystone 1 in a spooky looking chamber with a buncha fiends and shamblers that you see once and then never see again, somehow I didn't notice that for years.
  17. Something about the way Painkiller portrayed real world places in another dimension (limbo) I always found unsettling, I love that shit.
  18. @DRON12261 I love that subtle blued steel look so the game has a colder less inviting tone like Doom 64, along with the colder looking actual blues in general. I'm doing something similar with my PLAYPAL in my WIP gameplay mod. Awesome atmosphere in those shots!
  19. I'd like to know this too, speaking which my bullshit cold cost me a lot of time so my map is still coming.
  20. Classic FPS games all seem to suffer from weak endings, but maybe because their storytelling comes second to the gameplay. Blood probably has my favorite narrative, and for a-then modern example Unreal honestly shits on everything that came before and even after it. Then again I am pretty nihilistic so I can understand if you think it's a lame ending.
  21. He rolled an 80 damage revenant missile at exactly 80 health with no armor.
  22. I'll never forget the video I saw from back in the day of someone beating the game's final area on the hardest difficulty using the pistol from the start of the game. Imagine doing that in any other id game.
