Welcome back to an absolute legend! Hope you're doing well.

Reached MAP20 of Epic 2 recently, a fantastic wad by all accounts, did ten levels in a day recently because I was so hooked.

Doom 3 had the right amount of lore without having to pretend it was bigger than itself.

The DWmegawad Club plays: Operation: BIOWAR & Equinox
Lila Feuer replied to dobu gabu maru's topic in WAD Discussion
Operation: BIOWAR MAP03: Onslaught (on the path to slaughter, as it were) Ultra-Violence / Pistol Start / Nugget Doom / Vanilla compatibility K: 63/63 I: 13/13 S: 2/2 T: 6:44 A dark map, both tonally and literally. The music is especially fitting here, as it feels like your mission is urgent and you are on the move to your next objective as night falls, the darkness threatening to impede your progress. The resistance however is still quite light, with the biggest player around being a lonely Hell Knight with a Cacodemon buddy and a sprinkling of significantly less powerful friends to assist in guarding the red key. All in all there is a short trip through the natural surroundings before stopping at the admittedly imposing looking building, but it houses only a single room with the final battle before leaving which in itself isn't anything grandiose. That said it's an enjoyable enough trip that could throw the less cautious player off guard if they're too hasty. -
@Craneo Maybe I should use this the next time I play Dystopia 3!

That would be Big Italo.

It's obvious I am the most deserving of Hissy the shortcut to Doom95 was on my desktop back in the day for more years than was necessary before I switched to a proper port! Also happy pride month to all the beautiful people of Doomworld.

Figured I'd bump this as this very nifty rendition of the OG STATBAR is still up for download and I don't want it to be lost to obscurity:

(The Ultimate) Return to Hadron (IDgames)
Lila Feuer replied to cannonball's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Misread this as Return to Hardon and was gonna say "relatable" but then I realize I just have pervert eyes! I see an SSG in plum's screenshot, did you replace the useless chainsaw with it? 👀 -
Only appropriate choice for lovemaking with an Arch-vile.

Doom Finale is the only logical conclusion where you as Hugo Martin must defeat Hugo Martin in order to shut down the Doomslayer timeline.

The DWmegawad Club plays: Operation: BIOWAR & Equinox

Operation: BIOWAR MAP02: Terror Core (terrified to the core!) Ultra-Violence / Pistol Start / Nugget Doom / Vanilla compatibility K: 36/36 I: 35/35 S: 1/1 T: 4:35 Some quick violent romps through four rooms accessible by teleporters at the start in any order, well barring that one leads to the exit which requires all three keys. It's nothing crazy but the tune is nice. Absolutely adore the new nukage flat that is unique to this wad and wish to see it used elsewhere. The secret used to elude me back in the day but if you've had some experience with "double-binded" teleporters as I call them you will find it, offering a chainsaw I didn't need and more shells than is realistically required to clear the few foes on offer. I like that shadow cast by the tech pillar as well as the hanging vegetation. Other than that not much else to really say, it's inoffensive but relatively unremarkable. -
Not too hard, a bit of time spent punching out HKs, wasn't aware of the invul initially at the end in the middle because it got obscured by the blue armor and medikit that spawn in, so I "won" the first time by killing the boss brain in time. Second time I was benefitted by the invul. I'm not exactly a seasoned tyson player so I'd imagine this won't give the more experienced too much trouble, that said the music is funny and it's a cute little romp to just beat some things up for a few minutes.

Realm of Chaos: 25th Anniv. Edition - NOW ON IDGAMES!
Lila Feuer replied to Cammy's topic in WAD Releases & Development
It's like night and day compared to the original wad, which still had its share of bangers (courtesy of Steve D) but this overhaul is easily one of the most tasteful remasters I've seen. Also if I were to assemble such a list then the soundtrack here would be in my top ten easily, maybe top five! -
Are there any dark grave yard maps made in Doom?
Lila Feuer replied to Divided2's topic in WAD Discussion
MAP22: Rosewood from Cleimos II has a lovely graveyard, complete with starry night sky no less. -
Just noticed the zombieman and almost caused a ruckus in the apartment.

Bit confused on the Alien Quake mod situation from years ago.
Lila Feuer replied to Spooner5020's topic in Everything Else
The absolute laundry list of standalone TCs that rely on hacked executables is staggering, you can essentially download entire new Wolf3D games and not even own the originals, so I'm going to assume there was straight up unmodified maps in Beyond Wolfenstein or else it's a freak isolation case. Registered level sets required the graphics and/or sounds supplied as they would only offer you the new maps, but these honestly pale in comparison to the standalone stuff. It isn't news however that id or at least Carmack was not super pleased with how dirty modding the game was and why their next game (the one this website's named after) is a lot more modular and total conversions still required the IWAD to operate. -

@Artyoman +1 for Joey but that's not from Doom! Or any PWAD for that matter so I'll have to give you a failing grade. Nice try anyway.
