  1. I'll take this opportunity to discuss this a bit; It's a bit personal but if it reaches somebody and they can open up and diagnose themselves too, then it's a good thing. My mother was diagnosed a couple years ago with bipolarity disorder, and ever since I heard that, it came obvious to me how I am also subject to this. In such a state, your mental health is unstable and your mood varies greatly over time. You get pissed by the dumbest thing one day, then you sort your socks and clean your whole house the next day. Highs and lows come at varying intervals, with different intensities and last for a random amount of time. It's difficult to do things and plan ahead because of this. Now, my mother is under medication which greatly helps her, but I refuse to take medication, and all I can do is learn. Learn how to deal with who you are inside, learn how you react, learn how you can deal with highs and lows, and work from there. I have been able to identify the times when I need to stay off social interaction or when I need to isolate myself. There are times though where I don't want to fight it, and I'm exhausted with fighting, and in those times, support from other is the goldmine I wish you all can find one day. Mental health checkpoints like these are important, be kind to yourself and remember that you are doing your best, always. There will be days where you won't feel like you have not moved forward at all or done anything useful, and it is perfectly fine. It's okay to take time, it's okay to seek help when you need it. You got this! 💪
  2. Video processing likely still running! Because the level has no music (at least when I played), I added a few tracks here and there in the video. So this was quite the experience! Gorgeous looks and a sense of freedom rarely ever seen! Really like the aesthetics... and that's where the problems start. The final gate's unlock and exit felt pretty poorly placed. It is a remote location with no incentive to go there (ammo, monsters, you name it). I felt lucky finding it, but I'm sure some people will have issues with this. After a few more playthroughs, it appears you can get softlocked if you land behind the colorful pilar near the chainsaw on in the Yellow Skull cave. I found ressources to be okay, but you can get easily overwhelmed with Pain Elementals, you must be methodical in your approach to this level. (even this playthrough didn't result in 100% kills). There is potential softlock at the BFG area, the pilar will only lower once, effectively trapping you inside of the room if you miss it. The gigantic CyberDemon felt... underwhelming? This behemoth of a monster shooting thumb sized rockets from it's feet looked quite curious I gotta say. Some DECORATE wizardry would help here! Aside from two critical issues, a solid RC1! I so wish we were allowed to jump in this level. Looking forward to what's next!
  3. This is a very chaotic start. 60 seconds in and already killed half of the map's population, needless to say the rocky start is not for everyone. Enjoyable simple level, I'd like to see you make something a little condensed!
  4. Simple and effective, good fun!
  5. You've been there! Entering The Quilt Tunnels There are 4 connectors at different heights so you may need to remove some if needed. The main goal is a Rocket Launcher, no keys added whatsoever. cl2 compatible, should not VPO/HOM (though the final product will likely not be Vanilla friendly). MAP05_Oxyde_v00.zip
  6. FDA is short for "First Demo Attempt"! My bad for not reading, alternatively, did you try leaving the "music" field blank? This may work!
  7. Joining the FDA crew! So I ran into a softlock near the end (the door that closes abruptly can lock you outside of the exit), but other than that, well made stuff!
  8. There is no rule in any book that says there must be a Super Shotgun somewhere in your level! However, if your level (like this one) is mostly in cramped areas and twisty hallways, then a Rocket Launcher will be a risky weapon to use. The Super Shotgun will turn out to be a better alternative in this setting. As far this level goes, even the Chaingun is enough. Because of their size and because and because they only have a melee attack, that's where they work best. If you want to attempt to use Demons in outer areas, you could basically put a horde and have it act as a moving wall with HP that will ultimately corner you if you don't destroy it quick enough. Be creative! E2M8 has two different monster types. E3M8 has three different monster types. All of Episode 1 has only 5 monsters types for 8 levels straight. Don't overthink about variety, rather try to focus on what each monster type has to offer that the others don't and how you can make encounters engaging. Hitscanners are basically drone turrets, and so are Arachnotrons. Mancubis are deadly in small spaces and infinitely valuable infight partners. Pain Elementals are a priority target that can cause havoc really quick. Go wild with these! You can remake it if you'd like, but I'd suggest you try something new instead so that you burn yourself out! Mapping is primarily something you do for yourself, not for others! That being said, here's my FDA! I enjoyed this level and I had a few extremely close calls. Music would not play for some reason so I added music in post. Very cool level!
  9. Super apologies (it's like standard apologies, but wearing a cape) for being late on this! Here is a newer version with slightly edited difficulty (a bit more challenging in Coop and in the E3-esque section). Level name is "Lambda Arcturus" because I couldn't come with anything even more creative. Here is the file! E3M6_Oxyde_v01c.zip
  10. (Entering the world of (G)ZDoom FDAs) What a treat! Gorgeous visuals and atmosphere, though I'd argue that combat wasn't the most exciting part. The Spider Mastermind in the courtyard feels a bit sudden since the beastiary ascends in difficulty but is not given enough time to cook. Looking forward to what you have next cooking up!
  11. This level felt genuinely like classic Vanilla stuff. I loved it!
  12. In the same fashion you can miss a ton of things in NERVE, I also missed roughly 20% of the monters. Excellent level!
  13. E2M6; E2M7; E2M8; E3M1; E3M2; E3M3; E3M4; E3M6; E3M9; E3M7; E3M8; Episode 4 soon! @Somniac I haven't picked a name yet but expect another version of E3M6 some time this week; my goal is to improve difficulty and finalise some visuals!
  14. This WAD appears to have been built upon DOOM2.WAD, the file includes all the game's base assets. You need to change this before posting!
