Ah yes, a minimum subscription service, "to fight spam" you say? Does spam mean "anyone not paying you" by chance? Really makes you think, except it doesn't because it's Twitter. There is no thinking involved.

I used to dream so often, would remember a large majority too. Stopped dreaming now for the most part, or I'm just not remembering, except last night. Had a dream where air raid sirens woke me up, upon looking out of the window I realised I was not about to be actually nuked as outside was not my garden. My garden was replaced by endless green fields, the sky was shifting and turning colours that it shouldn't be, the mission to my dream self then was to wake up by any means to avoid the blast. Aware the world wasn't real, I tried to escape it, when waking failed I decided to head underground at the docks I was now mysteriously at and accompanied by 2 mobsters (didn't question it, fuck it we ball and all that). Upon heading into an industrial basement for shelter I actually awoke. - As for an ancient dream I always remember, I remember fighting off mosquito men at my primary school (I was there at the time) and the ultimate way to defeat them was to eat them, just take a fucking bite, accompanied by my battle hardened companion, Lisa Simpson, we fought back against the horde. I'm sure you understand why I remember that nonsense, I don't even like Lisa.

I don't watch much anime at all but I have watched Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Cowboy Bebop and the original run of Fist of the North Star. With that said, I'm looking for recommendations like those, Golgo 13 is on the watch list as well as Berserk so if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Do You Believe Challenge Is The Core Of Video-Games?
mrthejoshmon replied to DSC's topic in Everything Else
Depends on the game, literally. For instance, a survival horror has most of the enjoyment from fear that is compounded by the player running low on resources and having to fight something dangerous, the stress is the enjoyment (I am playing System Shock 2 and the stress of not having AP ammo do be making me panic). If I'm playing a strategy game, I want to win a battle, I don't want to just run over everything I want to earn the gratification of triumph. If I'm playing something like an open world sandbox, mess around kind of game like GTA or something, they're a lot more fun when you aren't being splattered every five seconds. -
Game that everybody likes but you dislike

My brother in Christ, Fallout Tactics has 5 fans and I'm 2 of them. - I was there when that shit first released, I got to not only see but experience that garbage and it was a threadbare, half constructed semi functioning entomology flash course. When the first "megapatch" launched it was "oh look the games is so much better now" but only because it was drooling on the proverbial carpet instead of ruthlessly shitting itself on the furniture. That fucking anime launched and all of a sudden the game was good, why was it good? I dunno man the anime was pretty cool apparently but everyone who told me it was good now just said it was and that the anime was cool. Shit ain't no massive RPG, shit is a garbage half baked action game, always was always will be (but hey, at least it now has actual cop chases in the game and it doesn't just spawn them round the corner lmao). -
Delayed is good. Them delaying it is nothing but a positive given the state the teaser demo was in, a bad game at launch is all too common nowadays and I'm getting sick and tired of the "fix it later" approach. I will not retract my statements/mockery of the game because they would've been (and still currently are) valid statements, but I am not without hope, if they take the criticisms onboard and make something great out of it then I think we're gonna get something good in the end, then we all win.

Someone tell me how Valorant is popular, explain that shit to me. Game fucking sucks, some of the worst gunplay I have ever endured, most obnoxious exaggerated cookie cutter stereotype characters (cocky fast Sonic the Douchehog character, edgy evil assassin, edgy grim reaper motif, calm collected dickhead with a bow, soft caring pretty medic... Is it stereotype or archetype?)... I guess I'm too fucking old for it. -
More of a puzzle, I won't tell you who these are despite how obvious some are, the fun is still figuring it out. monsieurlejoshmon DespairChild EnvironmentallyFriendly AnEnchantedSporegrownGentleman Sausage GenericPlayercharacter Blitzen Wanton party-debris Yellowblueberry144 FemaleFogWyvern

Shitting based existentialism requires more in-depth scientific research. The man is clearly suffering, we must find out how to help him.
-
For progression based wads, what I would do is come up with the exit room design and then the entrance that would take place after said exit. Then make the levels based on those. As for a MAP01, the entrance wouldn't need to match anything, so I'd say maybe actually go for MAP01 first, then if it doesn't work as a MAP01 then just make an exit suit its start.

We aren't talking about the Bombshell IP. We are talking about Phantom Fury as a game itself, which is very very not good. The future looks grim for Phantom Fury, not Bombshell entirely.
-
You think Phantom Fury is going to change engines 5 times and release in 2033 under Gearbox? Because to be honest, it would do it some good.

Cowards, the lot of you.

Understandable, sometimes I end up having to go back and bump the difficulty up for some RTS games (I've recently had to up Total war to Hard/Very Hard as I just run the entire AI over). Command and Conquer however can still prove itself difficult on lower difficulties when it decides to slam 400 units at you all at once, which the AI (especially in Red Alert 2) has a nasty habit of doing when you aren't looking. Tempest Rising has the potential to really be the successor to C&C and I'm hopeful after the demo.
-
As for playing them, eh, just bump them down to easy mode and enjoy yourself, if I'm looking to just relax and set up fun battles then I'll do just that.

Caught some of it, some thoughts of mine: Frank Klepacki doing the music for Tempest Rising has filled me immense joy, I am super excited for this because even if the game doesn't hold up the music most definitely will. - Played the Phantom Fury demo... This is not it chief. Rough, messy, buggy, terrible to play. My disappointment in it is legendary, for what is supposed to be another shot at DNF01, it sure as hell plays 4000 times worse, lacks the polish and gameplay (even when compared to an unreleased prototype) and just in general sucks. Ran into multiple issues/bugs. If this is your demo to hype us up, I don't want to see what the full product will be. - Aftershock coming out... Today... Is a shock, we'll have to see if it is any good (heard good things, then again). - Dusk HD is pretty exciting, really interested in how some of the more abstract enemies look (like the Cowgirl, Horrors or Bone Balls look).

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin (a new game from 3D Realms)
mrthejoshmon replied to Man of Doom's topic in Everything Else
I ain't believing that release date till Febuary. -
I actually wonder how short form 30sec below content keeps people watching. Having been trapped by Shorts (that the YouTube app pushes, hard, even booting straight to them sometimes) occasionally I wonder. Perhaps it leaves you barely entertained so you immediately seek further content, which also barely scratches that itch, then another then another... Never truly satisfying that itch to keep you hooked. I'll have to look into it some more, see how far the research goes.

what is your opinion on acid or lava that does not do damage ?
mrthejoshmon replied to dremor8484's topic in WAD Discussion
If my liquid sector is going to damage you, despite being previously established as safe, I like to tell the player with little details: It has been a while since I last did that though. -
Hot take, but, it is fucking garbage. I think this was the most definitive answer to the least required question in the world. You knew the answer before you asked, the answer is somewhat universal to anywhere not invested into TikTok.

The addition of objectives to complete (and keys/objects you can easily miss to complete said objective) easily contribute to the "I'm lost" factor, more so than entries prior.
