  1. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Hoping to conclude my Doomworld Maximum Project 2022 playthrough tonight with only 7 ZDoom/GZDoom maps left to tackle.
  2. Thanks for the mention @CrocMagnum. I'll list a few people that I guess regular Doomers should eventually check out at some point: -@Bridgeburner56: The leader of Hellforge Studios, who are pretty much responsible for a good chunk of GZDoom-based indie games both past and present. Is also a devious slaughter mapper in his own right. (https://www.twitch.tv/bridgeburner56) -@Dime: Kingdime was and still is a popular Doom speedrunner, and for me was a big inspiration for watching Doom content back in the 2010's. Has done Doom-related speedruns at AGDQ/SGDQ a couple of times also. (https://www.twitch.tv/kingdime) -@Austinado: He created the extremely useful 'playtesting' thread (https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/118850-who-can-test-your-maps-list-of-active-playtesters/) and is also a good Doom streamer in his own right. (https://www.twitch.tv/austinado_) -@Daerik: The man, the myth, the first ever person to D2All UV-Max Sunlust. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcXHg-Wu36A) A very chill and capable speedrunner that is also known as "Mr Sunlust". (https://www.twitch.tv/daerik) -@Jimmy: The chances are if you've played a Doom mapset recently, you'll have heard at least one "Jimmy midi" in the collection. Masterful music composer and Doom mapper alike. Adventures of Square is really good too. (https://www.jamespaddockmusic.com/) -@Vile: A long long long time Doom speedrunner, but also does a lot of Doom streaming these days. (https://www.twitch.tv/stxvile) -@Pinchy: I consider Pinchy to be one of the best Doom mappers ever. The Alfonzone (https://doomwiki.org/wiki/The_Alfonzone) I consider to be one of the best GZDoom megawads ever made, and is definitely Pinchy's magnum opus. He has a prolific mapping rate and a desire to learn new game engines, and is currently doing a lot of work with Quake (among other things). A future New Blood/3DRealms mapper if I ever knew one. (https://www.twitch.tv/pinchyskree) -@mouldy: Created Going Down, which I consider to be one of the best Doom megawads ever. (https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Going_Down) Also does music, and animations, and other Doom maps (Overboard recently, and also quite a few maps for community projects in the early 2010's), and well....his more well-known identity is not exactly a secret these days, but I'll let any newcomers discover it on their own. ;)
  3. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Marching onwards into the remaining 5 Boom/MBF maps of the Doomworld Maximum Project 2022.
  4. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee More Boom/MBF maps in the Doomworld Maximum Project 2022, but only if I can escape the black & red slaughtermap void of Ninehills' magnum opus....
  5. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Heading into the Boom/MBF maps of the Doomworld Maximum Project 2022 now.
  6. https://youtu.be/K6tW8Q91fwM Category 1 run on UV, video starts at around 28:50. Died on map 4 with 169/188 monsters killed to a second Archvile I didn't see coming until it was too late. Damn shame, because I felt like I'd played pretty well up to that point. So it goes.
  7. https://youtu.be/K6tW8Q91fwM Category 1 run, died on map 2 with 83/213 monsters. 2 revenants somehow flanked me, stupid death really.
  8. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Doing my monthly Doomworld Ironman League and Ironeagle runs!
  9. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee My second stream of the day, bouncing back to the Doomworld Maximum Project 2022 and more vanilla/limit-removing maps.
  10. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Checking out the Doomworld Maximum Project 2022. (a follow-up from the 2021 edition which I found enjoyable in the past)
  11. https://youtu.be/uetelJaA4lo = part 1. (maps 1-12) https://youtu.be/lwD3lyD6gq0 = part 2. (maps 13-21, plus both secret maps) https://youtu.be/9luxu7YQX6I = part 3. (maps 22-30) Played on DSDA-Doom, which I only found out later I'd been doing on the wrong compat setting; this didn't bork too much though, and I did re-do the map 29 fight in GZDoom to beat it without the bugged IoS spawns I had. I was interested in this project due to the tagline of it being "a 'classic' 32 map megawad meant to be a sendoff to the good ol` Boom, as we approach the new age of MBF21 and the fancy gzdoom indie games." It reminded me of the sentiment from Requiem way back in the 90's, the idea of one thing going out of style (supposedly) and the megawad being a fanciful "farewell" to Boom mapping. What I got instead was the impression of a jumbled but playable mess. Freudian Slipgate 2 felt like partly a speedmap project, a light-hearted shitpost, a megawad scrambling to fill up 32 maps (even with guest mappers), a mostly uninspired but simple collection of maps, and a bit janky all at once. The Barons having no animation warning for their first of two shots. Having Alter's 3-map 'Ever Shrine' from 2017 be placed into the first third of the megawad, with the maps out of order and map 2 renamed to mock joe_ilya. A puzzle map thrown into the mix late on. 2010's-Doomworld esque references and humour. (I miss Alfonzo...) And yes, an Icon of Sin map on map 29 that didn't actually suck. (the final boss on map 30 being an Obsidian creation with a really tight bit of timing needed at one point to avoid a telefrag trap) I feel like there's an interesting story behind this megawad's eventual creation. It had moments of inspiration, but largely just felt average. Playable. Alright to play, and not much more.
  12. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Further "psychoanalytical" adventures in Freudian Slipgate 2, resuming from map 22....
  13. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Carrying on with Freudian Slipgate 2, resuming from map 13.
  14. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee "Freudian Slipgate 2 is a 'classic' 32 map megawad meant to be a sendoff to the good ol` Boom, as we approach the new age of MBF21 and the fancy gzdoom indie games." So yeah, I'm checking out Freudian Slipgate 2 tonight.
  15. https://youtu.be/4uLFO42b4Ks Category 1 run on UV, starts at around 2:48:10. (DSDA-Doom, complevel 3) "Good at Doom(TM)" with 283/482 monsters killed.
  16. https://youtu.be/4uLFO42b4Ks Category 1 run, died on map 9 to a Cyberdemon that I tried to BFG 2-shot. (110/150 monsters killed)
  17. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Doing the monthly Doomworld Ironman League and Ironeagle #64 attempts.
  18. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee 2 maps left to go in Eviternity 2, but one of them is @ukiro's super long secret map Kenosis....
  19. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Beginning the sixth and final chapter of Eviternity 2...
  20. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Ploughing into the snowy fifth episode of Eviternity 2.
  21. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee The fourth chapter of Eviternity 2 now awaits me....
  22. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Entering the third chapter of Eviternity 2.
  23. https://youtu.be/GRPCdJzLzYw Category 1 run on UV, starts at around 28:10. I was tilted after map 2 honestly, then died on map 3 with 37/190 monsters killed to something or other. I wouldn't suggest playing this one blind.
  24. https://youtu.be/GRPCdJzLzYw Category 1 run. Died on map 4 with 45/61 monsters killed. This time having the chaingun out proved to be the wrong choice against skeletal nemesises.
  25. https://www.twitch.tv/johnsuitepee Doing this month's Doomworld Ironman League and Ironeagle #63 attempts.
