According to an article on ign.com, id software announced that GeForce won the golden ticket... I mean: sticker. id Software announced today that they officially recommend the NVIDIA GeForce FX series of graphics cards for DOOM 3. To emphasize the endorsement, a special sticker has been designed for GeForce FX packaging indicating that the product is "Recommended by id Software for DOOM 3." I couldn't find anything about it on id's site. However, the fact Carmack et al would have taken a final decision regarding this issue could somehow confirm the imminence of a release. EDIT: There seems to be more information on a page nVIDIA has set up regarding Doom 3.

In quite a short online article (let's call it a blurb), PC Zone Magazine's columnist Stuart Bishop gives his two cents about the widespread rumor stating that Doom 3 would be released on April 15. Activision's UK arm issued a stock response of "no comment" when queried about the date earlier, but reliable informants close to company rubbished the suggestion that the game would release on the suggested date. Too bad the rumored date is not April 1. Now what to think?

OK, I made a blog about this a long time ago. I had confirmation today that I would have my passport in time so here it goes:
- January the 17th, 7:29pm: Arrival at San Jose.
- January the 22th, 7:43pm: Arrival at Chicago.
- February the 1st, 6:05pm: Departure back to Paris.
- January the 17th, 7:29pm: Arrival at San Jose.

Yes, I'll be at San Jose from 01/18/2004 to 01/22/2004. I have an article accepted at a conference. I sure would like to meet guys there so let me know.

I'd like to go visit fellow doomers in England sometime this summer (something like a week-end or so). I can easily get to London Luton Airport, but I'd need someone to come and take me there.
From there, I'd like to meet as many limey doomers as possible. Let me know guys. -
