  1. Hello, long time no see. Map21: Nirvana is finally complete, I've been taking a long break from doom mapping to focus on other things and my mental health isn't in good shape, sadly I have not made much progress on this for people who are still following this project. I am still working on it though, it will be done eventually. Map23 is progressing smoothly, layouts for 24 and 27 are pretty much done and just need a lot of polish. I did some more polish for previously complete levels and did more bugfixing (map15 softlocks are finally gone). Therefore, here's the download link, you can now play the wad from maps 01 to 22 without any holes in between levels! [Download] (Version 3.2)

When I was playing PRCP2 on my own I could feel very drained by some of the longer levels in the set so I absolutely understand that some people might be too frustrated by the later levels because of fatigue. I did plan for that map to have the map29 slot for an obvious reason originally but it got pushed down to 27. I feel bad for anyone who had a bad time with it because imho it's probably one of the best works of mine thus far (and probably the most challenging map I've made). Don't really have time for doom mapping much these days as I still haven't made much progress on my own project since the last time I bumped the thread... ah well. We'll see what future has to come. I read all the reviews and thanks to everyone! I should really try joining more community projects in the future. xp Also, that pokemon in the secret is a Frillish, a very underrated design that I really like.
  3. For anyone curious, yes I am PotatoBoih. Just didn't wanna keep having a generic pokemon name for a nick so I switched to that one a long while ago on most social networks! Thank you all for reviews, the map was designed to be absolutely BS and seeing so many people frustrated with it fills me with joy... but yeah maybe I've overdone it just a lil' bit with the difficulty... <3
  4. Ultimate Doom II is the best Doom 2 remake I've ever played.

  5. Possibly just some very minor hotfixes. The point is the first post had version 2.9 attached and I preferred to send the most recent version I had prepared.

  7. Progress is slow as I'm too busy with my job and other stuff + feeling rather uninspired. Progress on Map21 was halted as I ended up making the level a bit too large and ran outta ideas, happens. At least work on Map23 started and thus far roughly 1/3rd of the level's complete and I'm satisfied with how it's shaping up thus far. Several old maps received some minor touchups and bugfixes. The project is not dead but I just haven't been in the best mood and didn't have enough time to properly focus on it. I'll bump the thread once another map is complete, but right now I just don't have enough new content to brag about. Some screenshots of Map23 will show up once I'm done polishing enough of what's already been done. It should be noted that map24 is actually complete, but one of my friends who made it requested that I touch the level up for them and I just didn't get to properly work on it just yet. Sorry for the long wait but doom's been a very low priority for me this year, those are pretty difficult times, but once I feel the drive to get back into doom mapping, I promise to finish this mapset as soon as I can, already put too much effort into it for this to simply go to waste. I'd just like to thank Guardsoul for being very inspiring and helping me with completing this project. Please for the time being follow his work and projects while waiting for this giant mess to be done. I'll provide an update whenever it's ready. xP

      It's still missing like 6 levels. Will probably create a new topic once it's finally complete. I just like getting feedback from the community so I tend to upload a new version every time I make a bigger update.

  9. Alrighty folks, Map22 has been added to the mapset, Map01 received a major rehaul in terms of visuals to keep up with the rest of the mapset and many others have received minor improvements. There have been also more multiplayer exclusive monsters added for people who enjoy playing this set online and whatnot. Have fun folks and lemme know what you think of the new level.   10. Hoo boy, finally an update! The project is not dead but it's been pretty tough to come up with new ideas recently. Still trying to make as much progress as I can by either fixing up and updating older maps or working on the new stuff. From the good news, map22 is now complete and is currently being tested! Map21 is almost done as well, so a big update should happen soonish. For now here are some screenshots of map22. A friend of mine has also made a pretty sweet revision of everybody's favorite map24 (as in The Chasm). After enough polish is done to all the levels expect a new release in a couple of weeks.
  11. Could be that they're replacing SS Nazis, the mapset uses those with a combination of dehacked to add a bonus zombie variant into some levels. Gameplay mods are not recommended unless you make a patch to replace the SS Nazi with something like a shotgunner or chaingunner to balance things out. There are several switches you need to press that open several doors in the teleport maze, like 3 or 4 before you can reach the blue key. They are supposed to be confusing and open random areas within the maze, if you walk through it counterclockwise the teleporters won't work so you can explore those freely and try to find em all.
  12. The first few maps were made as a practice before this level set became a real thing and were some of my earlier levels as well. The mapset will feature levels from 3 different mappers, including me and I'm aware that the original maps stand out since they were designed as standalone levels. The least I can do is make them look better, which I already started to work on and been improving on them slightly every time I puke out another version for testing, but the general idea is that the levels are much bigger and have more things to shoot at. I'll take this criticism into account while trying to change them even more for the future release. Maps 01-16 were all made by me, starting all the way back in like 2014. It's easy to tell how much I've improved by now. I'll try to make them more unique in the future. This mapset is definitely not for everyone and will feature a lot of grind, but the best I can do is create better setpieces and maybe reduce the amount of meatshield to fight against in the earlier levels until bigger guns are introduced. Some people like em, some don't, but maps 01-03 definitely feel dated even for me now, so thank you for pointing it out and please give the rest if the level set another try! I promise it will be worth the time unless you prefer shorter levels that are less exploration based.
  13. Sorry for constantly taking hiatuses from working on this mapset (and doom maps in general) but thank you a lot for the positive feedback! I'll keep it up and try to up the quality for all of the future hell-themed maps since in my opinion, they're some of the worse looking levels in the original set... hence why it's been taking a while for me to finish anything, haha... but yeah, once I'm done working on my other hobbies (fighting game tool-assisted playthroughs been my most recent passion) I'll be more than happy to provide more levels soon and eventually finish this set in this or next year.
  14. Because it's Gotcha and it's a surprising trap! It can be completely skipped too if you prefer. I guess the map still needs a bit of work but at least that encounter can be done from pistol start now so I'm glad.
