  1. Vice City (not on the missions), driving around to 80s hits, maybe doing some taxi jobs, wandering around like that in other games too.
  2. I'm in the middle of a bunch of games, in a mix and match mode: Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and gonna start Like a Dragon Gaiden sometime soon too.
  3. The Holdovers, really loved it, Giamatti deserves the Oscar I say! (the most recent watch was Rock of Ages, so-so but with some charm, did also have Paul Giamatti though!)
  4. Adventure games from the 90s for me, like Space Quest and Quest for Glory come to mind. Lot of fun characters. Space Quest V has a whole fun crew of Star Trek type goofballs, Quest for Glory always has memorable townsfolk, like that couple of Cat people who run the inns. And the Metal Gear Solid games big time, Otacon is the greatest bro in games.
  5. I gotta go Chun-Li, legend! Also a fan of the many greats mentioned here, Mai and Ivy from the OP for sure, too many cool characters. Fighting games really captured my imagination in High School no doubt. For like cinematic writing quality and whatnot, Jesse from Control is cool, and I like Panam from Cyberpunk yep.
  6. Very cool, I've been digging Hellboy lately too. Also, don't sleep on Savage Dragon! Savage Dragon/Hellboy is a cool team-up comic by Erik Larsen, from the pages of the ongoing Savage Dragon saga. Another one where it's all written by one person, and in Dragon's case all drawn by one too, Erik Larsen. Love those indie creator owned comics. I'm also always reading Judge Dredd, especially The Complete Case Files, John Wagner is pretty much my favorite writer. For novels, I'm in the middle of Neuromancer, also Guards! Guards! the Discworld novel. And also enjoy having audiobooks in the mix, in the middle of Rob Halford's, and the original Roger Rabbit audiobook.
  7. Always bet on Duke (runner up, Solid Snake, runner runner up Big Boss)
  8. Controller Doomers, what settings do you like? I've found controller feel in GZDoom to be solid so far. After messing with it, I have the right stick in GZDoom set to X and Y of 1.100 and 0.550, and I found lowering the dead zone on the right stick axises to 0.115 helped it feel more good and responsive. That said, it's still a bit tough when used to KB+mouse for Doom, I find tracking a target while circle strafing is a bit tough to pull off. Though Doom Eternal and other recent games feel great to me on a controller, though those I guess have several more kinds of filtering and acceleration and various subtleties. Though in Doom Eternal I changed those settings as well for the record, turning smoothing to 0 oddly enough. So for classic Doom, what do you find gives the best controller feel and settings? (edit: One nutty idea, lowering my run speed a little bit makes it easier to aim at stuff... )
  9. Space Quest and Quest for Glory are my jam! Especially SQ4, 5, and the VGA remakes of SQ1 and QfG1. Incredible, clever, timeless games. And honorable mentions to all their adventure game contemporaries. And of course, the FPS games we know and love. And great to see you Lee! You're the best ever!
  10. Played the first four maps of Back to Saturn X! Great stuff, been on my to play pile for a long long time. Really cool music too, terrific terrific maps all around.
  11. Good to hear, everybody! I can't say in general, for me though it is. And you can get worn out by repetitively using a controller too, or even smartphones. But for me controller is better now, since I've gotten some issues in particular from keyboard use. And even stuff like resting your elbows on chair armrests for example can cause an issue in your nerve going to your hand (ulnar nerve), etc. Just a few things to keep an eye on. WASDing (or arrow keys etc) in particular I just had to stop using. My hand would start tingling etc. Rotating my thumbs and wiggling my fingers via a controller is the way to go apparently.
I like Duke 3D even more tbh but this is still 5 stars easily!
Incredible stuff, some of the best Doom I've played! Very atmospheric and intense, with gameplay that is just right for my taste. I'm not always into overly complex potentially confusing maps, but the way Espi does it with lots of good views and great flow just works. A pro. 5/5
This is amazing! I may be late to the party, but I'm glad I played this for the first time with this music! "Trigger" by Mr. Freeze/Bucket is the best ever.

Really good level! Just fun stuff. Downloaded it on a whim because of funny description. A bit tough, but cool.
