I'm mostly a passing wind of random FDA posts, but. Well, the Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease. But also, If you Give a Mouse a Cookie...; so this is the last time from me to on such matters, maybe. Here's an FDA: noisy_MAP04 Splash Damage.zip Also, The level is on Map04. You should have that in OP or have it in Map01 unless there's a good reason otherwise. Otherwise, cute little map. I like miscellaneous Doom maps from people I don't know. Sometimes especially newbies. Keep on.

Here's the rest. I played each map until I exploded, which happened a lot. I usually got at least 5 mins into each map though. noisy_Simulacrum_RC2_m16-32.zip Anyways, That was a solid set, excellent even. Most maps were comfortably short, but there were at least several chonkers in there, more so the deeper you get into the WAD. Extremely fun slaughter content back-to-back-to-back... or is it "combat puzzles", whichever one is politically correct. There was enough splash of engaging gameplay variety between them all for sure, and all felt fair. I wasn't insta killed for falling into pits, which is nice. I enjoyed finding the 1-3 secrets in each map - usually it was "find that one shoot switch" kinda stuff but even that didn't get old. The weird trippy astral voodoo visuals rocks. I didn't get to see exactly 100% of it all but I might revisit a couple maps when this hits idgames archive. -

The following post is pre-typed and sponsored by the following comment: (more relevant here than that thread) I've been playing more and more on HNTR as default lately. Balance is a crapshoot anyways: Sometimes it's just marginally more health/ammo so people "just play or UV anyways", but I'm not gonna complain about bumping into an extra megasphere here and there if the essence is of the map is the same. It may or may not be worth it per person. Some people bump it down to HMP out of some sense of humility and self-awareness... But not HNTR!!! because that's BELOW average, and sub-par, and weak! "I'll settle for average, but not weak!" The observation here is kinda funny. There's no shame in it though. If the fights are in fact drastically different, then oh well, I'm not usually missing out on much. I'd rather get through more maps than less. I still enjoy walking through maps, finding a couple secrets, and exiting the map. 'Better that than burning out too. There exists too many maps at this point for me to worry completionism, and missing out on something, anyways. The ship has sailed for me. Per the above 2 points, I think people's instinct for not lowering difficulty is: you either risk an unintended experience; or the difference feels too marginal (at least at face value, just an extra megasphere matters) to be warrant changing. For me going forward, I'm gonna just playing on HNTR more because why not. All said, people should keep doing what they're doing if they have a reason for it.

HNTR FDAs for Maps01-09. Fun enough stuff, maps aren't too long, etc. The animated rainpow SPROCK is excellent. I like pretty colors :) noisy_SPCTRMDSCNT_RC1_m1-9.zip I think that's it for my session tonight. Might pick back up tomorrow. -
