  1. Instead of trying to force this through dehacked... would something like dehextra being more beneficial for use with Odamex?
  2. I'm not the author but I did use much of the same methodology described in this thread to do the tnt/plutonia upscale work and can tell you it won't turn out nearly as well. The vast majority of Doom's textures are based on photographs which AI algorithms have been trained well and are surprisingly good at interpreting and upscaling into higher resolution artwork. This goes for most Doom monsters which are digitized models. If you look at the imp and pinky in the neural upscale project, they aren't nearly as detailed as the other monsters and feel a bit muddled... that's because they were hand drawn and pixeled--the same as all the assets in Wolfenstein3D. Any AI algorithim is going to give you bizarre smeared artwork as it attempts to interpret the tiny pixel artwork. You'd need a specially trained AI for hand-drawn pixel art but the process used in this thread is not goign to yield good results (yet?).
  3. Yeah, the minor sprite fix for SIGIL changes the fullscreen pics and the new texture so that the images are displayed properly in doom's aspect ratio. I think the widescreen SIGIL images already do this.
  4. The only thing I felt lacking in an homage to Void, is a few more mind-bending environments. The black/white key pedastals were good, but it would have been nice to see something as memorable as the upsidedown room or the shrinking location.

  10. I made this a long time ago, but I spent 2 minutes doing a middling recolor. It would look better for the gatling gun than the existing arm.
  11. This was always the intention. The difference between film/tv/music/theater awards and game awards is that the former are always a celebration of the industry, the great things it has produced, and the people involved... Whereas game awards are essentially advertising; more time is spent showcasing upcoming games you should buy, they don't actually celebrate anything in gaming. From the beginning the hope was that the Cacowards would be a celebration of the Doom community... Even if some of the early articles were less than polite.
  12. For a few years now, there's been talk of a special feature--similar to "to missed awards"--which would examine the best music from 2004-2020. It's a bit challenging since earlier music output by the community was sporadic and relegated to just a small handful of creators.

  14. If you can't see the significance of a professional-quality widescreen pack for every eligible idtech game ever commercially released, I don't know what to tell you. A project of such significance, it was formally added to the GZDoom launcher.
  15. You should update the title/intermission/ending artwork to be widescreen compatible so this can be played properly on the Unity port.

  17. Absolutely thrilled to see proper "smears" within the weapon animations. I'm sold. Playing this shit when I get home.
  18. Playing around with Neutral Blender yields some pretty bizarre results. Inputting classic megawad names generates images that look strikingly like a cheap Wizard Works add-on... Action Doom Alien Vendetta Ancient Aliens ...Technicolor Antichrist Box
