  1. https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom/Ports/j-l/kewk Kill 'em with Kindness is an obvious choice - this shit's adorable!
  2. I quit because some of the names are wrong... and I'm generally better at Doom 2 textures, not Doom 1. 😅 But in the short time I had a go: DOORYEL was not being recognized. REDWALL1 was considered to be REDWALL. I imagine there's a few more errors but I don't wanna be the one to check :P
  3. Aye, it's not great, but equally seems to be the most "correct" term in this case sadly.
  4. Given how you need 1000 ad views (so exclude youtube premium and adblock users) to earn a measly $18 (apparently, though I doubt it's actually this high)... Youtube ain't gonna get you a sum of money worth living from particularly quickly. And sure, you COULD hit a video early on that goes viral. That's cool... until you realise that you earned $0 from that though, because you need 1000 subscribers and over 4000 hours worth of content _watched_ by people (or 10 million youtube shorts views, but fuck shorts) before you can even earn via Youtube. This is why so many youtubers start patreons super early; but again, that'll take a long time before it adds up to a sum worth your time. As a former twitch streamer, I can tell you twitch ain't the way to go for money - if you're doing it for the cash, you're going to have a very, very bad time. And while making a game in the Doom engine is a viable method, again, you'll be putting in hundreds / thousands of hours before any monetary value lands in your pockets - and your game's gonna have to be damn good to entice enough people to buy it where it becomes a viable income source. It's very, very probable you'd need to also commission several other people in the lead-up to the game's completion for things like art, code, music, etc. So again, like youtube and twitch streaming, you should only do this because you enjoy the task, not because you want money. TL;DR: Just get an actual job if you're financially troubled. If you could work doom stuff such as video creation or mod creation, you can do a office job, even a work-from-home role.
  5. I did slap a quick tutorial together for someone on my Discord server for their specific questions - I've been told that this helped some people learn the interface in general though, so it might also help you?
  6. Hear! Hear! Shoutouts to everyone who's ever expressed hate for the shit I make, you guys made me better 🤙
  7. Found... what, exactly? If you mean some magical way to make a quick buck off of doom? Pfft, no chance.
  8. It's not about just the width, but the stairs depth as well.
  9. Very doubtful. The OP hasn't been here in 4 years, they removed all of the videos or made them private, etc.
  10. I like what you're trying to do, but it's pretty inaccurate currently. 😅 I'd try your best to get as 1:1 as you can with it in terms of layout / geometry.
  11. How can anyone use that? It's not remotely close to seamless.
  12. T'was an honor ol' buddy ol' pal; I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Congrats on the release, was a blast tuning in to the listening party and look forward to seeing what else you put out there 🤘
  13. There is no benefit, as you say. Just extra bytes... Equally, there's no benefit to highlighting how shalton is wasting their time either, as they will continue to ignore instead of improve.
  14. ...That makes a LOT more sense, thanks for clarifying!
  15. Thanks for the reminder, came at the right time as I was doing nothing - and the good news is, I FOUND IT!! I will upload the recording as an unlisted YT video and DM it to you when it's eventually rendered out. Very creative secret implementation, but without being told this secret exists and subsequently devoting an hour or more to attempting to find it, I don't think anyone would come across it 😅 Thanks for the challenge, was fun! Good luck to anyone else who tries, make sure you give yourself a couple of hours, you'll probably need it.
  16. I gave it an honest 60 minute attempt - fantastic map, I'll have to continue the set at some point. Sadly I could not find it; at least on this attempt. I might try again another time, if the prize is still going of course! 😅
  17. None of those are UDB features (or lack thereof) but engine limitations - why would UDB support this if the game itself does not?
  18. Then use any graphic manipulation application you can think of.
  19. Having experienced this in random other editors, such as the Golf It course editor, YES PLEASE!
  20. This is true. Sometimes that one little extra step is enough to say "fuck it, I'll just use a different texture", but then with that mindset having it built into UDB is probably still enough of an extra step to be lazy about 😅
  21. Two big features for me in UDB would be: - Ability to sort textures / flats by colour hue - Ability to make _new_ textures using patches from within UDB instead of having to close the .wad down in UDB, open up slade, make the change, close the wad in slade, open UDB only to find that in the specific use case I have I need one of the patches to be realigned by 2 pixels. Having that feature in particular would make me create a LOT more single-use specific textures, too.
  22. Post the code samples shown on lines 16 and 361 of your DECORATE scripts. If the error message is to be believed, it's expecting a hexadecimal number, but you're not providing one.
  23. So there's nothing "never ending" about the mod? 🤔
