Which artists would you have wanted to see live?

Absolutely brilliant map! The way the perimeter walls dance to the beat, the river waving along with the arpeggios... wow; it's impossible not to have a smile on your face when trying this map! Even after starting my 4th attempt after some unfortunate deaths and going allll the way back to the start of the map, I'd still end up grinning when the map itself starts dancing. EDIT: Props to Cammy on the tunes, they rock!

Is this just a door thread now? 😅

How would you go about making a cone in Doom builder
Dragonfly replied to DrowzyBomber13's question in Editing Questions
Exactly the kind of results I'd hoped to see from saying "Hopefully others can advise". Thanks Boris :D -
How would you go about making a cone in Doom builder
Dragonfly replied to DrowzyBomber13's question in Editing Questions
Making it 3D would be a more painful experience for sure. You'd need to make sloped dummy sectors for each "face" of the cone, each of which is meticulously positioned parallel to the target sector... I know there's a 3D floor plugin / mode built into UDB but I've not dabbled with it yet, hopefully someone else can advise. But if you wanted to attempt it yourself, I did write a guide on Sloped 3D Floors. -
Dehacked : Monster keeps refiring infinitely.

Slow down. Take your time and read your own code. Logically go through EACH STATE one by one and you'll see the issue. Compare the NEXT column and see where that takes you - logically going through the states, we see that yep, they all go where they're supposed to... until, oh, there. State 741's NEXT state is 737. This creates an infinite loop from 737 -> 741, never breaking back out of this. Continuing on, lets see what else is going on.... Aha. States 743 and 744 both link back to the chase state, but different points in the chase state. That means that 743 will return bfore SkelMissile on State 744 is ever called, creating a redundant frame. Look at the image below, I've drawn lines from each next state to the state they point to. I've highlighted potential outliers in red. -

If you're working in UDMF format, see https://www.dfdoom.com/tutorial-introduction-udmf-vertex-slopes/ In short, create a circle shape, connect all the sides to the center so that this circle is contstructed out of triangular sectors, then using the vertex handle in 3D mode, raise the center up. Pictures below to demonstrate: If you don't see the vertex handles, you're either mapping in a format that doesn't support them, or don't have the option enabled. You can find that option here in the toolbar across the top if you're in a supported format (e.g. UDMF): -
Problem with invisible lifts/self-referencing sectors
Dragonfly replied to Grizzly Old B's question in Editing Questions
I would advise using line action 242 if your map is in Boom format or above, but if you're 100% certain you need self referencing sectors, I made a quick guide some time ago on YouTube, which should hopefully help! -
custom texture not aplying for floors
Dragonfly replied to Flibberblitz Quibblewobble's topic in Doom Editing
I've never seen that acronym before but I'm guessing "Doom in Hexen Format". -
Don't go charging money for that game, given that you'd be looking at using (edited) copyrighted assets or not have explicit permissions to do so from the artist(s) you borrow from. Regardless, good luck!

If the point was that the linked page will be extremely useful to you, then point well made. 😉

AMALGOOM (OST) needs Composers
Dragonfly replied to Johnny Cruelty's topic in WAD Releases & Development
After looking about online it seems that people are jumping ship after Cakewalk's latest few updates have ruined MIDI support. I've never used cakewalk so I have no experience to talk from outside of the searches I've done, but it sounds like you can't roll back either? If that's the case, and that's the way the software is headed, I'd look to try out different software too - though I know how tough unlearning what you know in favour of new interfaces etc can be. 😅 -

I'm not confident I do, no, but perhaps VirtualMIDISynth would be an appropriate solution for your needs? -

Share Your Sprites! (yet another split)
Dragonfly replied to SupremeBioVizier's topic in Mods & Resources
I'm glad some other people are finally speaking up on this because it's kinda nauseating - so much so that at one point cranky was temp-banned and thread-split over it. Please, we're not asking you out of malice, but a place of genuine intent - With the frequency you make these edits and the amount of time you're obviously committing to it; there's clearly room to learn and, eventually, produce fantastic results. Just take your time - study, refine, improve. Learn to do things properly instead of repeatedly ignoring good advice. Slapdash edits of other people's work which were made via the imprecision of a mobile phone will be very, very unlikely to be usable, no matter the amount of talent, time and effort invested.- 15 replies

Honestly, this has happened far too many times. Since the OP isn't maintained with enough regularity, I'd suggest removing the mapper list entirely and have a public google sheet or similar such page pinned at the top AND bottom of the OP so it's able to be updated by both rs01 and halfblind... 😅 -
To incentivise people taking their time to look at your map, I'd recommend posting screenshots. Read more here:
